We are looking for a talented 1st Shift Operator to join our team for our location in Janesville, WI.  

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:  

• Operates machines and production equipment in accordance with quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment with limited guidance.

• Operates manual and automated equipment to manufacture and assemble product in order to create the proper characteristics and dimensions necessary to meet customer expectations.

• Demonstrates a high level of competency in core work skills.

• Achieves production goals.

• Works at the required cycle time or defined engineering standard.

• Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and performs planned operator care and maintenance tasks.

• Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet production goals.

• Works with peers, skilled trades and support staff to maintain and identify equipment needing repair.

• Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams.

• Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements.

• Participates actively in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:  

• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

• Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

  • These positions are setting up and operating an Amada Laser cutter.
  • Previous experience a plus but will train the right candidates.
  • Required skills:  Computer skills, Team work, Flexibility
  • Preferred, but will train: CNC, Nesting, Laser cutting set up, Amada experience  

• New hire onboarding and training will take place in Mineral Point, WI.

  • All training will be on 1st shift (7:00am – 3:00pm, leave Janesville at 5:30am, arrive back in Janesville at 4:30pm)
  • Training will start immediately when hired until June 2022.
  • Transportation will be provided daily by Cummins from the Janesville facility to the Mineral Point facility for this travel requirement.
  • During training period, candidates will work 8 hours/day and travel approximately 3 hours/day (approximately 11 hours/day per shift). Work and travel hours are both paid.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
