Job Summary:
Provides technical support on health, safety and environmental to production and site personnel under the guidance of the site HSE leader. Assists in the implementation, analysis, review and sustainability of Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems.

Determine gaps within corporate HSE initiatives and local health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Applies HSE culture ensuring it is integral to processes. Develops and implements pertinent training; develops, implements, and leads health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness programs; maintains health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness program.
Understands and implements relevant legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements as defined by agencies (such as, OSHA, EPA, state regulations, corporate requirements, DOC, Department of Homeland Security).
Co-chairs facility Safety, Health and Wellness Committees; serves as a primary contact for facility health and wellness issues; communicates health and wellness information with facility site management.
Serves as facility Emergency Coordinator; leads facility emergency preparedness for Emergency Response Medical Teams.
Represents facility on corporate occupational, health, safety, and environmental committees, as supervisor warrants time.
Conducts occupational, safety and environmental audits with facility Health, Safety and Environmental Management departments.
Understands and applies appropriate Company and department rules and guidelines to work and to systems; participates in the maintenance of quality procedures.
Develops and conducts training programs; provides counseling, mentoring, and coaching.
Serves as company representatives in various capacities to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies. Interacts effectively with all s of employees throughout the company.
Exercises independent decision-making and initiative in determining what needs to be done and planning and implementing the needed activities; performs problem solving, creative technical and analytical work, budget management, and hands-on applications; coordinates programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
A two year University degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, Sustainability or related field required.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required with Department of Labor Certification OR
Associates degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience OR
Bachelors degree in a related field.
Experience:
Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and experience in health, safety, environment or related field.
Department of Labor Certification OR four year experience/education requirement accomplished through either Bachelors degree in related field OR associates degree in related field and at least two years of relevant experience
QUALIFICATIONS
Performing site-wide compliance inspections (RCRA, SPCC, SWPPP)
Supporting management of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste
Gathering and reporting facility data (energy/water consumption and waste generation)
Participating in site sustainability initiatives
Maintaining documentation under site HSEMS
Responding to HSE emergencies
Supporting HSE-related expenses through Ariba purchasing system
Delivering select HSE training (spill response, chemical management, etc.)
Auditing the site's activities for conformance with relevant ISO standards (ISO 14 and 50001 knowledge preferred)
