    • Strengthen Export Controls : Monitor controlled goods programs, evaluate compliance controls, and implement secure processes for licensing, classification, and restricted party screening.

    • Drive Process Improvements : Provide input into trade and compliance process enhancements, leveraging data analysis and best practices to improve operational efficiency.

    • Support Training and Documentation : Prepare documentation, implement compliance controls, and deliver training to ensure adherence to secure server and authentication processes.

    • Act as Compliance Advocate : Analyze trade activities to prevent violations, maintain accurate records, and serve as an escalation point for non-routine compliance issues.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    To be successful in this role you will need the following:

    • Analyze and visualize global packaging data and documentation to identify compliance gaps, regulatory risks, and opportunities to strengthen adherence to international packaging regulations and internal standards.

    • Conduct compliance and quality audits across regions to validate packaging specification accuracy, ensure regulatory integrity, and drive corrective actions.

    • Partner with Engineering, Sustainability, Procurement, Product Compliance, and Supply Chain to evaluate regulatory and environmental impacts of packaging decisions.

    • Interpret, translate, and communicate complex regulatory and environmental packaging requirements to internal stakeholders to support informed decisions and operational compliance.

    • Develop and deliver training, workshops, and capability building programs that strengthen organizational knowledge of packaging compliance, regulatory obligations, and best practices.

    • Lead or support packaging related regulatory initiatives-including waste reduction, recyclability improvements, material transition strategies, and circular economy objectives.

    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to enhance compliance processes, workflows, documentation standards, and reporting practices to increase transparency and efficiency.

    • Support internal and external audit readiness, including audit documentation management and evidence preparation aligned with global packaging compliance requirements.

    • Monitor, track, and interpret emerging packaging regulations globally, providing timely guidance, risk assessments, and actionable insights to business units.

    • Lead or contribute to root cause analyses for compliance issues, ensuring appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.

    • Support adherence to global environmental standards (e.g., ISO, EPR frameworks, waste and recycling directives) across packaging operations.

    • Provide expert compliance guidance to end-users and teams integrating regulatory considerations into day-to-day packaging workflows.

    Education, Licenses, Certifications:

    • College, university, or equivalent degree or equivalent experience required.

    • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

    Experience:

    • 1 to 3 years relevant work experience preferred.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Additional Information:

    This role is responsible for ensuring that Cummins packaging specification data, processes, and documentation meet or exceed global regulatory and corporate compliance frameworks. The position supports a unified, enterprise-wide response to diverse and evolving packaging regulations across all CMI operations (IAM, DBU, and First Fit). Key regulations include, but are not limited to:

    • Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)

    • Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)

    • EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)

    • ISPM15

    • Other region specific and emerging packaging waste, sustainability, and environmental directives

    The position supports policy development, compliance governance, regulatory readiness, and the continuous improvement of packaging compliance processes across the global organization.

    Required Eduation:

    • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, or related technical field.

    Preferred Skills & Competencies:

    • 2-4 years of experience in packaging compliance, regulatory affairs, environmental compliance, sustainability, or packaging engineering.

    • Working knowledge of global packaging regulations, sustainability frameworks, and environmental compliance requirements.

    • Strong understanding of global packaging regulatory trends and evolving frameworks (EPR, PPWR, EUDR, etc.).

    • Excellent analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to interpret regulatory language and convert it into actionable business requirements.

    • Strong communication skills with the ability to develop training materials and present regulatory concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.

    • Ability to collaborate across diverse global teams and influence compliance minded decision making.

    • Attention to detail with strong documentation and audit readiness discipline.
