Performance Emissions Engineer

We are looking for a talented Performance Emissions Engineer to join our team specializing in Spark Ignition for our Engine Business Unit in Columbus, IN. This is a hybrid position.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Investigates product, system, and/or technology problems that are related to thermal and fluid sciences, understands causal mechanisms, recommends appropriate action, owns problem resolution and documents results with guidance from more experienced team members.
• Opportunities for emissions testing/development, emissions audit test support, field issue troubleshooting, calibration improvement, high warranty part investigations, some vehicle testing
• Obtains input and negotiates with immediate stakeholders, such as team members, technical managers, project leaders, and other departments
• Makes decisions in the areas of day-to-day project details, such as conducting analysis, testing, and communication with stakeholders that impact and support the successful progression of projects.
• Owns problem resolution for moderately complex components, products, systems, subsystems, or services with a greater degree of technical complexity and ambiguity over the entry level engineer level and with greater accountability to the project team.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
• Experience with MATLAB and Excel
• Prior experience with test cell

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
