We are looking for a talented Supplier Quality Technical Advisor – Valve to join our team specializing in Supply Chain for our Corporate & Supply Chain in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Statistical Foundations - Applies statistical tools and technique to influence decision making; leverages understanding of data collection methods, key statistics, graphical and analytical methods to describe process performance, gain insights and drive improvement action
• Problem Solving - Solves problems using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.
• Advanced Product Quality Planning - Leads the technical quality planning and ensures customer satisfaction through structured and measurable processes as defined by industry standard.
• Dimensional Metrology - Applies dimensional measurement science in the development and application of measurement/inspection processes that deliver capable measurement results, supporting design validation and conformity assessment meeting regulatory, customer and product requirements.
• Quality System Management - Guides in the practice and application of quality management system standards required by international certification bodies, industry specific regulatory authorities and customer's contractually specified requirements.

Supplier Quality Management - Leads all aspects of supplier quality management; helps develop strategy and collaborative supplier partnerships; identifies supplier innovation capabilities; contributes to supplier audit and certification process; tracks supplier performance metrics and acts to quickly resolve issues to improve supplier quality performance.

This role will support the Valves sub-category within the Fluid and Air Management Supplier Quality team. While this role is categorized as off-site, it is preferred to have the candidate be based in the Mid-West.

Some key responsibilities for this position are:

• Own Supplier Quality for the sub-category and help drive improvements across the global Valves supply base. Track KPIs, lead read-across initiatives and establish best in class practices in an effort to drive towards zero defects.
• Provide subject matter expertise to the Global Supplier Quality team on various types of pneumatic actuators and valves (EGR, Intake air throttle, Exhaust Bypass, Shutoff, Solenoids and Thermostats).
• Engage globally and cross-functionally to provide input on new and existing suppliers, designs and manufacturing strategy to shape future products in this space.

Skills required:

• Knowledge of the PCB/PCA supply chain process of electronic components as well the leaded and lead-free printed circuit board process which include Solder Paste Application, SMT Process, Reflow Oven, Automate Optical Inspection and Functional Tests.
• Knowledge of electrical circuit design, embedded software and CAN/LIN controls would be a plus.
• Experience with basic Valve manufacturing processes - welding, casting, injection molding, bearing/seal/bushing installation, ESD compliance, incoming sub-component testing, rework etc.
• Ability to understand, develop and implement functional checks/tests with well-defined acceptance criteria - such as cleanliness, force measurement, leak tests, end of line performance tests, functional reliability verification etc.
• Experience with defining and implementing inspection, measurement and testing methods to validate the quality of the finished product based on a thorough understanding of design intent and previous failure modes. Prior work with NTF (No Trouble Found) type of failures/returns would be ideal.
• Experience with implementing and troubleshooting traceability systems through the manufacturing process.
• Ability to work effectively with tier suppliers and cascade actions/improvements.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
