    Aetna is recruiting for an AVP, Stop Loss who is responsible for spearheading the profitable and sustainable growth of Aetna's Stop Loss business. This leader will need to have an expertise in medical stop loss and will be leveraged to establish strategy and business objectives. This role will use data and analytics to drive alignment with underwriting, pricing, sales, and marketing to ensure the success of the overall strategy.

    You'll make an impact by:

    • Building out the stop loss organization - responsible for strategically building and enhancing our stop loss capabilities and talent.

    • Responsibility for Stop Loss P&L performance, drive profitability and operational excellence.

    • Increasing market competitiveness through innovative solutions that leverage both internal and external channels with the goal of increasing membership, revenue, and earnings.

    • Driving stop loss growth by cross-selling across the full Commercial book of business and the enterprise.

    • Maintaining a deep understanding of marketplace, legislative and competitor trends and events to ensure Aetna successfully manages emerging risks and opportunities across the stop loss industry.

    • Leading through ambiguity while collaborating across the enterprise to build the stop loss portfolio, ensuring the delivery of solutions that meet/exceed current and future needs.

    • Strong collaboration and communication across the enterprise will be critical to the overall success of this role.

    • Supporting CVS Health in attracting, retaining, and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumer-centric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work, live, and serve.

    Required Qualifications:

    The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company's business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:

    • 15+ years of diverse healthcare experience; expertise in medical stop loss with a Managing General Underwriting or insurance carrier.

    • Strong understanding of the medical stop loss market and trends.

    • Business and financial acumen; proven ability to effectively manage all aspects of a P&L (revenue, earnings, expense management), including the ability to understand the economic impact of decisions.

    • Ability to drive and execute business initiatives effectively, with discipline, structure, and speed.

    • Strong people leadership experience.

    • Effective communicator, shaping opinions, overcoming objections, and convincing others of vision and strategy by flexing leadership styles.

    • Track record of inclusively and proactively developing talent, empowering others, and creating a culture and environment which promotes open dialogue, and encourages others to work across organizational boundaries.

    • A creative leader who is known for developing and executing on a differentiated strategic vision.

    • Ability to work Hybrid Model (in office Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday) out of Hartford, CT, or willing to relocate to Connecticut (relocation assistance will be provided).

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree required.

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is:

    $157,800.00 - $363,900.00

    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
