    Overview

    Regulatory Technology aims to be an industry leading function that delivers sustainable regulatory compliance through technology automation and competitive operating leverage to create a safe and controlled operating environment that protects the Deutsche Bank franchise and its clients. This role is with Level One Controls, Tax and Trade Surveillance group where we are monitoring all trade activities looking for anomalous behavior using Google Cloud, Big Data tools, including Python and Spark. In this specific role, you’ll envision and establish DevOps strategies for the entire group, which requires strong experience in the study of the current state, defining future state roadmap and evaluation of new tools. Key focus areas will be automated infrastructure provisioning & orchestration, consistent and standardized continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for automated deployments, cloud migrations and application monitoring. You will work as part of a cross-functional agile dev ops team, collaborating with analysts, developers and testers, and you will bring an innovative approach to software development (focusing on using the latest technologies and practices, as part of a relentless focus on business value).

    What You’ll Do

    • Provide architecture and technology leadership for building tools, frameworks, procedures, and standards to provide development team as much autonomy as possible (while following DevOps principles)

    • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of DevOps processes for the organization’s on-prem and cloud infrastructure

    • Manage DevOps Book of work, collaborate with stakeholder’s project planning, prioritization, delivery, and lead all capacity planning activity across onprem and cloud infrastructure

    • Build, expand, enhance, and maintain CI/CD/CT automation pipeline (across Dev, Quality Assurance (QA), User Acceptance Test (UAT), and Prod environments), develop automations, integrate continuous deployment processes, integrate continuous testing processes, automate through scripting (using PowerShell)

    • Monitor and report on application up-time, performance, other metrics, and help your team build, test, and release software lead times and a minimum of waste

    How You’ll Lead

    • Lead others by sharing knowledge, facilitating meetings and workshops, defining new designs, discovering new techniques, and leading architecture efforts for platform modernization and DevOps governance

    • Effectively measure and help improve DevOps performance—Lead time for change, change failure, rate, deployment frequency, and mean time to recovery

    • Educate and mentor team about DevOps practices (such as Configuration-as-code, Pipeline-as-code, infrastructure-as-code, immutable infrastructure, blue/green deployment, shift-left, and observability

    Skills You’ll Need

    • Extensive experience with DevOps, delivering quality code within enterprise scale development, managing python, Scala, and Java applications

    • Knowledge with SRE (Site Reliability Engineering), SQL (Structured Query Language), and relational databases

    • Experience with on-prem to cloud migration, managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform (and deploying VMs using Terraform), DevOps Cloud engineering skills utilizing cloud fundamentals (Google/Amazon/Azure), cloud network/VPC provisioning, and cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) integration

    • Familiarity using Terraform, GitHub actions, Jenkins, and HashiCorp stack

    • Experience building, running, and scaling microservices using Kubernetes, GKE, OpenShift Docker, and monitoring services (like Geneos, Prometheus, and New Relic)

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
