Position Summary

Manager – Finance Business Partner Advisory

This position is part of the FP&A team in Enabling Areas (EA) and will be part of the Advisory Finance Business Partner (FBP) Team. The Manager – FBP will primarily support the Advisory Commercial Operating Units (OUs) from a finance perspective under the guidance of the OU Finance Business Partner Senior Manager but will also have opportunities to support and be engaged in analysis and projects across Advisory as needed. 

Work you will do

This role focuses on the ‘Analytics & Technology’ and ‘Controls, Compliance, & Finance’ Operating Units, which are tasked with managing revenue and salary expenses to meet leadership and Deloitte targets. The Operating Unit Finance Business Partner will work directly with the Operating Unit Leaders allowing the Operating Unit Leaders to make informed decisions through forecasting, planning, ongoing/ad-hoc reporting, and insights. The Operating Unit’s responsibility for client service professional headcount requires the Team to stay closely connected with the Recruiting, Deployment, Talent, and the National Finance Business Partner Team.

In providing finance-related services to the business:

  • Explain, present, and analyze the financial performance of the business
  • Identify and prioritize business challenges, risks and opportunities while recommending action plans
  • Provide meaningful, actionable insights, advice, and recommendations on historic and the future financial performance to Business and Finance leadership
  • Work directly with the business leader(s) to successfully implement the business strategy
  • Participate in strategy development and planning, facilitate the long-term financial planning process, and develop metrics to monitor the performance against strategic objectives
  • Deliver timely financial analytics and business counsel to effectively measure business performance against strategic priorities
  • Support an efficient and effective long-term planning and forecasting process that produces accurate, achievable plans and forecasts that align with business’s strategic objectives
  • Support the business in protecting, growing, and optimizing the assets of the Firm
  • Explain and analyze the business’ financials
  • Drive initiatives in support of the business in achieving its strategic objectives
  • Continuously improve Advisory FBP Team’s organizational efficiency and effectiveness by leading and participating in internal change initiatives

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related subject
  • CPA or MBA a plus

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant finance experience, preferably in a professional services firm FP&A role
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in the following areas:
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis

Technology or Other Requirements

  • Extensive experience effectively utilizing financial systems for operations, financial analysis and data extraction
  • Advanced / expertise in Excel and PowerPoint and firm financial applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Actively teams with others and has strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of financial systems: SAP, BPC, Essbase, etc.
