Position Summary

Senior Analyst – Desktop Architecture & Engineer—Mac - Deloitte Support Services India Private Limited

Work you’ll do

Design, build and deploy solutions that are engineered to meet stated requirements and needs, deliver quality results with minimal impact to end users, and support our goal of technology leadership. Create, develop and test install packages and scripts used with the standard macOS deployment. Research and evaluate new and emerging technologies and tools and provide analysis on potential use within firm. Use systems management platforms to create distribution packages, to deliver packages, to gather systems information and to report on deployment status.

Responsibilities

1. Architect/engineer/build solutions to deploy new software, to update existing software, to change machine configurations, or to create custom queries. Using standard scripting tools, development languages and packaging tools, develop and test packages and scripts that make up the solution. These are distributed through our firm software distribution systems. As part of desktop engineering/management team responsible for deploying applications, desktop/laptop imaging, VDI platforms, and related upper tier support, specifically do the following:
2. Develop custom application packages/installs for existing vendor packages
3. Test and validate packages
4. Develop scripts to automate computer related tasks, such a moving files from one machine to another or to capture specific data from machines
5. Integrate packages for software deployments through Jamf Pro
6. Create, maintain and support various macOS imaging techniques
7. Monitor production deployment process and provide deployment status
8. Evaluate and test new macOS releases with Apple/Mac senior staff
9. Research/evaluate new platforms, systems, software and hardware for potential use within Deloitte environment. Provide evaluation results to other team members and groups; these are used as input into decisions on firm standards and best practices. Research and analysis is also performed in seeking possible solutions for identified issues and problems in major platform changes and functional software deployments.       
10. Develop and institutionalize standard scripting/packaging procedures and maintain a strong documentation library. Work with peers to utilize similar standards and share results.
11. Collaborate with ITS support and Contact Center staff to troubleshoot issues, identify platforms that meet requirements, and insure regions/offices receive required support and services to provide end users with a stable, consistent platform. Recognized as Tier 3 advanced support staff.
12. Use the standard client systems management tool to create collections and packages for software and configuration change deployments as well as create custom reports and queries to provide reports and data for customers and leadership.

Required Technical Skills:

·       Advanced Scripting and Packaging Languages and Tools for the Mac environment (Apple script, Shell/BASH Scripting)

·       Macintosh Operating Systems—macOS 11 Big Sur and macOS 12 Monterey

·       Network Protocols and Concepts

·       Internet Protocols Concepts

·       Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Office for Mac 2021/o365)

·       Knowledge/experience of package creation tools

·       Experience with deployment of applications, monthly patch releases and creation of self-service

·       Knowledge/experience with desktop management systems such as Jamf Pro including proven experience in image development and maintenance

·       Experience with encryption, specifically FileVault 2

·       Experience with Parallels or other virtualization products

·       Technical understanding of multi-tiered client/server architectures, LAN and WAN technologies.

·       Excellent written and oral communication skills

·       Knowledge of desktop environments with the ability to efficiently diagnose computer system issues and implement effective solutions

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements

Apple OS certification desired.

Location: Hyderabad

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree; 5 years of experience in an IT role required along with specialized knowledge and/or experience in the end user technology environment.
• Preferred experience with OS X Apple hardware and hands-on expertise in OS X/Microsoft Active Directory integration. Experience should involve designing script/package solutions using industry standard tools, scripting software installs and system configurations, packaging software for installation and deployment, testing scripts/packages/software, and using deployment/management systems within an end user environment.
• Focus should be on scripting/development/engineering for Mac OS X client environment in a Windows server infrastructure environment for a large enterprise.
