As a Senior Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for leading large complex IT systems - these applications are often high-volume mission critical systems and would provide you an exposure to a broad range of technologies across all Cloud and on prem systems. You will lead global functional and technical teams on engagements that leverage a high degree of automation, the latest technologies and cut across support and development work. You will need to understand functional requirements and should be able to support specific technologies, develop technical designs, develop, customize, and test completing the lifecycle from design to ongoing support.
Work you’ll do / Responsibilities:
As a leader in our Program Management and Business Process teams, you will bring considerable consulting, project management and/or business process expertise to our clients. You’ll lead and manage work threads across one or more engagement teams to create solutions to help our clients solve problems, expand market share, improve operations, and grow their business with specific experience around Agile transformation. In addition, you will:
· Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define project approach (Agile vs. traditional) as well as deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from client leadership; direct on-time quality and delivery of work; manage engagement economics and risk. You’ll bring considerable Agile transformation experience to the table.
· Manage day-to-day interactions with executive clients and sponsors;
· Manage client relationships and work with business partners to address their business needs;
· Participate in and lead aspects of the proposal development process;
· Contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies, organize and lead pursuit teams;
· Develop practical solutions and methodologies, develop “thought ware” and “point-of-vice” documents; participate in public speaking events, publish content in industry periodicals;
· Perform the role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices; actively engage and provide development opportunities for staff including enhancing skills in both agile and traditional project management and/or business process disciplines.
The Team
Core Technology Operations practitioners work on the design, delivery and support of a variety of solutions that help our clients meet business objectives. These solutions range from large scale ground-up custom developed applications, to Cloud-based development and integration services as well as customizing industry sector-focused packages. As a member of this team, you would get opportunities to work on all adjacent area technologies such as user interface/user experience development, integration services, business rules engine solutions, or Cloud-based services.
Qualifications
Required• Experience working with globally distributed technology teams which should include 10+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience managing and delivering systems;
• 2+ years EPMO (Enterprise Program Management Office) experience with global clients; 5+ years’ experience in a specific industry vertical;
· 2+ years planning and managing project initiatives and/or business process initiatives in a Project Management Office or similar team environment;
· 2+ years leading teams responsible for requirements definition, requirements management, and requirements validation;
· 2+ years leading teams responsible for the design and definition of technology solutions;
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience with project management, requirements management, and system design tools; Experience working in an Agile environment and experience working with third-party vendors. Demonstrated experience in being a thought-leader to the CIO or other senior IT/Business Leaders
• Travel up to 50 percent nationally (While 50 percent national travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, engineering or a related discipline;
• Industry recognized technology certifications are a plus – AWS, Agile, SAFe, etc.;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
In addition, successful Senior Consultants will have the following preferred background:
· Experience of leading fit gap analysis for migrating applications to cloud platform
