    Position summary

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Senior Collibra Developer will develop procedures to support the accuracy, security, and integrity of Delta Dental's data. The analyst will help maintain best practices regarding data access, provide expertise, guidance, and support in establishing, operationalizing, and sustaining a data governance program that identifies, defines, manages, and publishes data standards and policies. The individual will build technology solutions in coordination with cross functional Data Stewards and Data Governance Centre of Excellence teams. In addition, this individual is responsible for managing Collibra tool, building and maintaining Data Governance workflows, integrations, master data definitions and corresponding metadata within all represented data domains. This individual will provide technical and functional expertise to ensure the quality and availability of that data and coordinate the delivery efforts of that data under proper controls.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Creates objectives/strategies to reflect data governance initiative and charter, working in partnership with cross-functional teams.

    • Defines, authors and partners with Business, Compliance and Technology stakeholders to operationalize Data Governance Policies, Processes and Procedures.

    • Partners with Business and Technical Data Stewards to identify, define and maintain data definitions and corresponding metadata across business functions and data domains.

    • Establishes a Data Quality framework and partners with stakeholders to define and implement data quality rules for multiple Lines of Business.

    • Performs data analysis and facilitates discussions for data issue/gap identification, root-cause analyses, remediation identification, solution implementation and closure. Documents and reports findings to inform business decisions and prioritize governance needs.

    • Provides thought leadership and participates with projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes.

    • Serves as liaison with Business and Data/Technology teams to apply data standards and processes (e.g. data access, classification, quality, certification, metadata, lifecycle and retention, etc.).

    • Coordinates business interests and collaborates with cross-functional Data Stewards, Compliance, Product and Technology in the development of the Data Governance and Data Management solution.

    • Leads and/or supports facilitation of workshops, sessions and training to increase Data Governance Awareness and Data Literacy.

    • Creates and monitors program metrics and dashboard reporting for review and presentation.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 6+ years of experience in similar roles along with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

    • Direct experience with Data Governance tools (Collibra) to design and build operating model, Metamodel, importing or exporting content, customizing dashboards & widgets, views

    • Hands-on experience implementing out-of-box and developing custom workflows using Eclipse and Groovy scripting to automate Data Governance processes.

    • Experience with Collibra SaaS and configuring and implementing Collibra native Metadata Connectors, Technical Harvesters, ETL and Reporting Connectors to implement end-to-end Data Lineage.

    • Ability to implement Data Dictionary/Data Lineage and Data Catalog use cases, deliver Guided Training and Mentoring for Data Stewards needed to support the new Collibra processes.

    • Provides overall Collibra subject matter expertise including best practices relevant to and required by client.

    • Designs and configures Metamodel, the Collibra structure reflecting how client is organized around data assets and metadata asset model

    • Develops and delivers training materials, use case and asset model documentation, as well implementation specification

    • Prior experience directly related to defining, designing, implementing, and managing Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Management and Analytics solutions and programs

    • Experience with operationalizing Data Governance Policies, Standards, Processes and Controls (e.g. metadata, data classification, data certification, data access, data retention, data lineage etc).

    • Strong functional understanding of data and analytics architecture, platforms, and frameworks; including data modeling, data ingestion, data pipelines (ETL).

    • Hands-on functional and technical experience in performing data quality, profiling and analysis.

    • Good familiarity with standard relational database structures, SQL; Tableau and Business Objects knowledge is a nice-to-have.

    • Experience with configuring implementation and administration of Data Governance and Data Quality tools

    • Participates in meetings, workshops, and interviews (as necessary) with business IT stakeholders to understand strategy and requirements

    • experience with data projects such as Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Lakes, and other analytical platforms

    • Ability to interact with Business and Technical stakeholders.

    • Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices

    • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection

    • Knowledge of data privacy related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues

    Base Pay Information

    The national base pay range is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $74,000 - $170,900
