JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Manager Enterprise Architecture is a senior role with responsibilities ranging from supporting the Director in driving architecture delivery for strategic initiatives, EA Practice improvement and in providing thought partnership to various stakeholders. Hence, the incumbent in this role will be responsible for performing as a Solution Architect as well as managing a team of Solution Architects and Enterprise Architecture Managers in facilitating and directing the development and delivery of the Solution Architecture deliverables that meet enterprise goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Functions as a Solution Architect as well as a team manager in finding solutions to complex problems involving one or more teams, systems or business functions.
Takes ownership and drives the architecture delivery of highly complex or mega programs in the organization. Directly accountable for delivering To-Be Architecture for several Portfolios
Leads, recruits, mentors a team of Solution Architects and managers, monitor their performance, development and promotional aspects.
Monitors and oversees highly complex initiatives and deliverables including but not limited to completion of comprehensive definition of architecture, development of roadmaps, schedules and budgets for internal work; determination of staffing requirements; definition of deliverables; and establishment of architecture review and quality assurance checkpoints for all aspects of the initiatives.
Collaborates with EA leadership and other stakeholders in creating and executing IT Strategies
Articulates positions and directions through position papers and publications
Influences decision making in Technology and Product Road-map(s) through active and trusted partnership with Product and Business stakeholders. Similarly, influences decision making in functional and technical designs through active partnership with cross-functional teams.
Drives continuous improvement of delivery processes, standards, and practices, increased efficiency, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse
Organizes and conducts enablement sessions to strengthen the team with respect to both technical and role-based proficiencies. Mentors and guides junior managers and individual contributors in supporting Strategic initiatives in the enterprise
Leads and inspires the team with positivity and optimism, creating a culture of high expectations, innovation, and achievement
QUALIFICATIONS
12+ years of professional experience in technology with Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineer, Software Engineering or related field
2+ years of professional experience as Applications Architect or Solutions Architect
1+ years of supervisory/management experience is required
Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory/management of Architecture teams or at least IT Teams
Strong communication skills with a strong ability on listening to others
Ability to practice empathy and build trust amongst the team
Ability to research and maintain current and emerging technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology
Highly knowledgeable in preparing or assisting their leaders and colleagues in preparing business plans, IT plans, Technology Roadmaps, and technical project proposals
Knowledge in preparing and managing budgets
Ability to analyze business requirements and recommend the right solutions in a timely fashion
Demonstrated use of ingenuity and creativity by taking actions to direct the analyzes and solutions of problems
Knowledge of systems development life cycle, including the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple initiatives and deliverables utilizing SAFe Agile, SCRUM or other appropriate development methodologies.
Ability to recruit, retain and develop a team
Demonstrates a Lean Agile Mindset
Ability to lead, collaborate, triage, and make decisions in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $133,300 - $260,000
