Job Duties and Responsibilities
This Business Operations Analyst position falls within our Technical Operations - DISH Wireless Beta Team. While primarily a member of the Customer Experience organization, Technical Operations supports various business groups internal to DISH, and externally with our vendors. As a DISH Wireless Beta Analyst, you will be a key player in DISH’s device, plan, and platform wireless release process. Your focus will be to identify, trend, and escalate potential device performance and software issues in the pre-launch phase. Additionally, you will develop and validate analytic theories on potential software and hardware abnormalities.
The Dish Wireless Beta Team is required to be extremely versatile to support many aspects of the business. This position too is expected to be versatile, in order to fill different needs day-to-day as Dish Wireless Beta continues to support the direction of the business.
Primary responsibilities will fall into the following categories:
Assist with creating testing scenarios and reporting for all wireless performance and software release processes
Review feedback from testers and agents through tools and forums for potential issues, and provide feedback back to the tester reporting the issue to close the feedback loop
Identify wireless performance and software bugs through routine testing when new software or hardware is released, and by participating in the Dish Beta Program
Coordinate with various departments such as engineering, product marketing, product stability, and technical support, to plan for business changes that may impact the overall stability of our service
Accomplishing tasks using various databases throughout the company, and writing custom SQL Server scripts to help automate day-to-day responsibilities. Keep a keen eye to identify opportunities to turn ad-hoc investigations into recurring processes.
Develop and archive documentation referencing software release notes, projects, and product stability processes
Use Google Sheets, Tableau, and other tools to manipulate data and generate reports and analyses
The ability to support many areas of the business, sometimes simultaneously, while understanding or being able to learn how each of them differ while maintaining how the customer experience aspects of each are the same.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
A successful Business Operations Analyst will have the following:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or three years related experience and/or training; and two plus years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficient in Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, as well as knowledge of database basics (https://e.g. SQL, MS Access)
Experience in Agile development methodologies preferable
Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities, with proficiency in mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, statistics, probabilities, algebraic expressions, etc.) and ability to define problems, seek and collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Experience in Python, Java, C++, or C# is a plus
Well-developed verbal and written presentation skills, with the ability to summarize complex concepts into understandable and easy-to-follow presentation materials
Experience with or ability to work in a fast-paced environment; and excellent teamwork skills with ability to establish productive working relationships with other departments and personnel
Sharp attention to detail is a must; high personal standards for quality and thoroughness
