Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier 2 escalated network support
• Perform fault management and problem resolution in a highly complex, mission critical network
  environment
• Work closely with other departments to ensure problem resolution and minimize time to restoral
• Provide a high level of critical thinking in driving successful resolution of high-impact, complex,
  cross-functional problems
• Network change management: support modifications, maintenance to complex network systems
• Perform software and hardware upgrades to maintain the high performance requirements of the
  environment
• Lead implementation of new systems into production network
• Perform capacity planning and management of Cisco LAN and WAN backbone connections
• Seek out and suggest opportunities for improvement, including changes in technologies and
  procedures
• Create and support network management objectives, policies and procedures.
• Ability to train and assist junior engineers.
• Ensure that network documentation is kept up-to-date.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Basic Requirements:

• Education - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Experience - 3+ years of progressively related experience
• CCNP certification or equivalent knowledge and experience
• Must be able to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
• Requires proficiency with Layer 3 routing and switching technologies
• Must have advanced functional knowledge of the following technologies: BGP, OSPF,
• Must have hands-on experience with and working knowledge of the following equipment: Cisco
  Catalyst (7600s, 6500s, 3800, 9300), ASR
• Strong knowledge of data security and firewalls
• Must have excellent communication skills, effectively interact with management, vendors and
  customers and should be able to effectively communicate complex issues in a clear
  straightforward manner
• Ability to apply advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems are essential
• Works effectively with cross-functional teams and must be flexible enough to deal with different
  technical skill levels and skill sets
• Ability to deal with concurrent problems and issues effectively. Proven ability to work in a dynamic
  and high-pressure environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Cisco and Juniper Network equipments and environments

• Experience with CLOS Architecture and Cisco ACI

• Experience with Checkpoint Firewalls

• Experience with F5 load balancers

• Proficiency with IOS XR, Fabricpath, JUNOS

• Knowledge of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standards

• Ability to absorb information and learn new technology/concepts quickly

Salary Range

Compensation: $101,000.00/Year - $138,000.00/Year
