    Job Duties and Responsibilities

     As part of the Wireless NOC Team, this team focuses on monitoring and triaging outages issues of our Roaming Services.  You will be responsible for documenting the incident report and actions taken during an incident and send communication of the incident to management. 

    You will be responsible for providing direction to the Roaming Engineer Is on documentation information being sent to leadership along with coordinating any efforts between management and the roaming engineering team. 

    In this role, you will:

    • Would be responsible to collaborate with Core network Tier III engineers to troubleshoot during an outage and document the learnings. Based on the learnings proactively monitor the KPIs and alarms to prevent future occurrence
    • Support core network roaming functions across our cloud-native standalone 5G network
    • Align with vendor personnel at Nokia, BICS, and roaming partners to establish, train, and troubleshoot outages 
    • Participate in the investigation of outages related to roaming on the network. 
    • Align knowledge transfer, documentation, and information sharing from the roaming vendors
    • Confirmation of all roaming partners in accordance with DISH roaming strategy, guidelines, and SLA’s
    • Develop and train lower-level roaming engineers
    • Troubleshoot SS7 and IP traffic with roaming partners to investigate and resolve network issues that are impacting roaming services
    • Recommend process and operational changes to prevent the recurrence of service-affecting issues

    Skills, Experience and Requirements

    As a skilled Roaming Engineer II, you will have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or Electrical/Computer Engineering

    • 2+ years of experience working within the Wireless industry on either the carrier or vendor side of the house

    • Possess knowledge of the 5G Core nodes and roaming call-flows related to S8HR, N9HR, N26, and N14

    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with strict deadlines, both as an individual contributor and/or a team player

    • Base knowledge of SS7, Sigtran, and 5G protocol

    • Knowledge in the following core functions: SMF / UPF / AMF / DRA / DEA / HSS

    • Proven work experience in 5G core in Network Operations Center

    • General understanding of TCP/IP networking and familiarity with TCP, UDP, SCTP, GTP, RADIUS, Mobile IP, SIP, and Diameter protocols

    • Knowledge of Protocol Analysis, Wireshark, NetScout, RADCOM or other similar tools

    Salary Range

    Compensation: $75,600.00/Year - $108,000.00/Year

    The base pay range shown is a guideline.
