Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Principal Solutions Engineer will be working on DISH Private Network solutions to help enterprises deploy 5G/LTE use cases that will drive substantial value and business outcomes. This role requires deep understanding of E2E private network solutions and a broad knowledge of technical architecture, as well as use case acumen required across different vertical enterprise customers. The Senior Solutions Engineer will be responsible for defining service requirements with product management & engineering to deliver managed services (design-integrate-deploy-operate) for Dish’s private network as-a-service solution. This position requires in-depth technical knowledge of private networks based on 3GPP/ETSI/MEC/ONAP/MANO specifications, call flow, architecture, and experience in virtualization, cloud, OSS/BSS & Orchestration.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with client to understand business need and requirements
New Technology Trials and introductions into the DISH Wireless Network with focus on Enterprise Private LTE/5G Solutions
Lab and Field validation of the next generation Wireless Technologies (ie. 5G, Small Cells and NB-IoT)
Develop tools, processes, and use cases to deliver an end-to-end (RAN/Core/MEC/Vertical Applications/FCAPs) solution for an enterprise customer
Conduct network trials and technology evaluation programs with engineering teams across the USA
First Deployments for new technologies into the DISH Wireless Network
Work with industry leading network and handset OEM Vendors
Collaborate and share trial learnings and knowledge across the various engineering teams in DISH
Manage projects from initial planning stages, design, integration to final deployment from a end-to-end perspective
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science; Ph.D. preferred
10+ years’ experience in telecommunication industry in systems engineering roles
Advanced knowledge of IP networking including routing and switching
Fundamental Wireless Design principles (ie. Air interface, RF design, etc.)
Basic technical skills in LTE-FDD/TDD networks
Excellent understanding of radio propagation principles (High/Low bands, mmWave)
Quick learner with industry leading RF Planning tools
Maintain a broad knowledge of current and emerging state-of-the-art network systems technologies, architectures, and products
Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
10-20% travel required
Good planning, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Salary Range
Compensation: $115,500.00/Year - $214,500.00/Year

Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
