Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Network Operations Center at DISH Wireless is looking for an Observability Engineer with expertise in Network, Systems, and Application monitoring and logging development using various EMS and monitoring platforms. As an integral part of the Observability Engineering team, you will develop end-to-end observability and monitoring for the DISH Wireless 5G cloud-native network, applications, and infrastructure; including dashboards, visualization, and the development of network performance and predictive analytics. You will be leading the development of the most advanced and comprehensive 5G monitoring solution in the world, enabling automation and orchestration that drives toward a self-healing network.
In this role, you will:
Develop and improve instrumentation for monitoring and logging the health and availability of services
Develop and maintain Monitoring and Logging Frameworks for the DISH Wireless NOC
Own operations documentation of monitoring and logging
Improve operational efficiencies via scripting, bots, and integrations
Some network and systems troubleshooting, fault analysis, and resolution within the Observability Tools
Personal responsibility for the quality, reliability, and usability of the NOC Observability tools, including creating/maintaining documentation on the tools, and incorporating feedback from the NOC Engineers on Observability improvements
Training and coaching on how to use the Observability tools for triage and troubleshooting events in the network
Support solution processes to meet key criteria for CI/CD, system orchestration, and automation.
Use a combination of various tools to correlate multiple faults and/or system-presented data into singular network impairments.
Manage fix bridges on a large scale and/or high-severity issues that involve multiple teams/participants including Executive level communication.
Coordinate training for Tier I and Tier II NOC Engineers

Skills, Experience and Requirements
A DISH Wireless Observability Engineer leads the solution to any problem or issue with an automation-first mindset, utilizing a crawl/walk/run approach to implementation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT-related field, or equivalent years of experience
5+ years of experience with Observability tools (e.g. Datadog, Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, Vitria, EXFO ASA, Netcool, SevOne, Kafka, Etc.)
5+ year of experience in Python, GO, .NET, C#, C++, and/or JavaScript
3+ years of experience in event engineering using AI/ML in an operations environment
3+ years of experience with Chaos testing, STM, and/or RUM
Strong understanding of API testing tools (SoapUI, Postman, Soatest)
Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications (Docker)
Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines
Working knowledge of Configuration Management and Automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins
Hands-on Experience with Cloud technologies (strong preference towards AWS)
Wireless experience is a plus
Salary Range
Compensation: $87,500.00/Year - $143,750.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
