    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    As the UICC Engineer, you will make strong contributions to the 5G eSIM profile that will be used on both M2M and Consumer eUICCs, work day to day with SIM card vendors, develop test tools, and test/validate the operation of the eUICC/eSIM profile in devices on the DISH 5G network. This role can sit out of Littleton, CO; Overland Park, KS; or Plano, TX.

    You will:

    • Work with SIM manufacturers and eSIM providers to implement features of the eSIM profile for optimized operation on the Dish 5G network.
    • Specify, review, and validate eSIM profile contents and features.
    • Specify, review, and validate eUICC applets contents and features.
    • Serve as part of a small team of UICC and eSIM subject matter experts.
    • Work closely with internal and external teams on SIM-OTA and Remote SIM Provisioning implementations.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities for an UICC Engineer

    • Manage day-to-day relationships with the UICC manufacturers (e.g. Thales (f/k/a Gemalto), Giesecke+Devrient (G+D), Idemia [f/k/a Oberthur]).

    • Lead the team in specifying and implementing eSIM profile contents.

    • Lead the team in specifying and implementing eUICC applets.

    • Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive SIM and device configurations toward a universal SKU for managing the brand and network journey.

    • Collaborate with cross functional teams to define and implement SIM-OTA campaigns for eSIM profile updates such as roaming or sponsored roaming file updates.

    Skills, Experience and Requirements

    Qualifications

    • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business (or equivalent) with proficiency in the English language OR equivalent work experience.
    • 5+ years of experience in SIM technology & commercial product deployments.
    • 5+ years of experience in mobile product certification processes including industry leading practices (e.g. regulatory requirements, standards roadmaps).
    • Prior experience with SIM-based authentication and connected product development through launch is required.
    • Prior experience with SIM test tools and ADPU logging.

    • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization through conventional methods (verbal and written).
    • This position requires working with a computer (keyboard/mouse), telephone, and portable devices.
    • Other duties may be assigned as required.

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

    • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds and work with various hand tools. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing a computer screen. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule which may include nights and weekends. Limited same day travel required with some overnight stays.

    Salary Range

    Compensation: $87,500.00/Year - $125,000.00/Year

    The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
