Department Summary

The PayTV General Ledger team within the DISH Accounting department is looking for teammates who are driven by curiosity, pride, adventure, and a desire to win.  Successful members will also have high energy, intelligence, and an overwhelming need to achieve.  The PayTV segment within DISH earns more than $12 billion in annual revenue.  Join us as we streamline and automate our processes to support DISH.  Your proactivity and sense of initiative will be put to use as you contribute to this distinguished team.  You will be exposed to various revenue streams including DISH and Sling internet programming subscriptions, OnTech services and equipment sales, Media sales, and many more.  The team also handles accounting for programmer COGS, retailer sales incentives, Smart Home Services, Customer Service Operations, Marketing, DISH Technologies and various G&A support departments.  In addition, we work with international entities in India, Ukraine and Mexico. Therefore, related party and intercompany transactions are also under our purview.  Lastly, you will see how our satellite accounting group works with the spacecraft operations team and space command center.  And, don’t forget we offer free satellite television and discounted Sling subscriptions to our members!

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• This position is mainly responsible for partner CSG revenue recording, CXO and Facility accounting. Working in close collaboration with outside and inside teams including the CXO finance team, Facility department, and other Accounting groups.

• Performing monthly close duties to include preparing journal entries, PL variance analysis, reconciliations, and account analysis

• Creating/improving accounting internal controls and developing efficiency improvements

• Establishing new processes if needed, and documenting processes and procedures to comply with SOX standards

• Creating and presenting ad-hoc analytics, and effectively communicating with different departments

• Assisting KPMG and Internal Audit with quarterly and annual audits by providing supporting documents and answering all inquiries

Skills, Experience and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration

• 1+ years Accounting experience including month end / year end close and Financial Statement preparation

• Understanding of key accounting concepts and GAAP

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.

• Ability to solve problems, recommend solutions and establish the new solutions in collaboration with IT, Finance, accounting teams is required.

• Familiarity with Oracle E-business Suite, OneStream, Orbit, and Google suite is highly desired

• Ability to assess and recommend improvements for processes and procedures; willingness to learn new concepts and work with teammates to find solutions

Salary Range

Compensation: $57,400.00/Year - $82,000.00/Year
