    Role Overview:

    The Senior Associate Director of User Experience Design will be a key leader within the UX COE, specializing in enterprise-grade design systems that support multiple lines of business (LOBs). This role requires deep expertise in creating, scaling, and maintaining institutional-level design systems, including design tokens and advanced token studio implementations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, proven experience in design system governance, and the ability to drive adoption across a complex, regulated environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Design System Leadership:

    • Architect and maintain a robust, scalable design system for DTCC's enterprise applications.

    • Define governance models, versioning strategies, and contribution workflows for multi-LOB adoption.

    Design Tokens & Advanced Implementation:

    • Implement and manage design tokens for consistent theming and brand alignment.

    • Leverage advanced tools like Token Studio for automation and reuse across platforms.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Partner with Product, Engineering, and UX teams to ensure seamless integration of design system components.

    • Advocate for accessibility, compliance, and performance standards in all design system assets.

    Innovation & Scalability:

    • Continuously evolve the design system to support new technologies, frameworks, and business needs.

    • Drive modernization initiatives for UI components and front-end development practices.

    Mentorship & Enablement:

    • Coach designers and developers on design system usage and best practices.

    • Conduct training sessions and create documentation for enterprise-wide adoption.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent experience).

    • Minimum 10 years in UX design, with at least 3-5 years focused on design systems.

    • Proven experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.

    • Expertise in design system architecture, governance, and scalability.

    • Deep knowledge of design tokens, Token Studio, and component libraries.

    • Proficiency in Figma and other modern design tools; familiarity with front-end technologies (React, CSS frameworks).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with multi-brand or multi-LOB design systems in large organizations.

    • Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and compliance requirements.

    • Certification in Design Systems or DesignOps methodologies.

    Leadership:

    • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive enterprise-wide adoption.

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills across design and engineering teams.
