Position summary

Eaton's Electrical Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure (CPDI) division is currently seeking an Applications Engineer to join our team. This position will be a hybrid office/remote role as long as you live within 50 miles of our Moon Township, PA facility.

Eaton's CPDI division designs, manufactures, and services Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, batteries, and electronic-based products to ensure power reliability in the most demanding applications. Our employees deliver mission-critical solutions to our customers' most challenging energy management requirements.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $62,250 - $91,300 a year.

The Applications Engineer will be responsible for resolving issues coming into the group via phone or email such as product applications, delivery, pricing, technical support and troubleshooting technical issues. The position supports the Eaton Surge (SPD) Product line and reports up through the Product Marketing organization within the Electrical Sector - Americas. The Application Engineer will also participate in the development of new surge products, new marketing programs, present at training sessions and participate in the Product Line's SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations and Planning) process.

What you'll do:

  • Provide post-sale sales support for the Eaton SPD Product Line

  • Provide post-sales technical support to resolve product installation and warranty issues.

  • Perform product specification reviews, prepare quotations, and pricing information.

  • Conduct competitive product analysis and write technical literature for internal and external use.

  • Participate as a trainer during the Product Line Seminars.

  • Provide technical explanations, demonstrations, and training of products to customers, field engineering, and marketing support functions.

  • Research and prepare competitive cross references and application notes for the product lines supported.

  • Assist in-house engineering and marketing personal in developing concepts for new products or modification of existing devices and contribute to product launches.

  • Assist Product Management in developing new marketing programs and in the development of the data needed to support those programs.

  • Support Product Line Seminars.

  • Maintain SIOP Demand Plan and Product Portfolio decks and run monthly meetings.

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of one (1) years' experience in the electrical industry working in operations, engineering, sales or marketing roles (coursework and internship experience apply).

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Moon Township, PA will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the electrical industry; power distribution experience preferred

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a role that demonstrates analytical and leadership abilities, time management, and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently

  • Experience with commercial electrical codes and standards such as UL and CSA

  • Experience with SIOP process

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally to drive out cost and improve product profitability

  • Ability to analyze and collect data from internal and external sources, integrate disparate information into a coherent story and actionable proposal

  • Ability to lead and influence multifunctional team without direct reporting relationship
