What you'll do:
Drives and promotes zero incident EHS culture throughout site
Champions and leads projects designed to effectively drive improvements in our "Zero Incident Safety Culture" program(s) Drive and promotes zero incident EHS culture throughout site.
Assist in MESH implementation at site
Assist in the preparation and control of records, statistics, and reports regarding operations
Ensures industrial hygiene monitoring for identified hazardous risk such as air, noise, dust, etc.
Maintains and monitors current information and plant compliance on government EHS regulations and corporate policy
Prepares required reports, plans and other government EHS filings and ensures timely and accurate submission
Evaluate jobs for possible ergonomic improvements (body mechanics, lifts, hoists, manipulators, etc.) and implement these work design changes
Actively investigate all accidents and near misses, identifies root causes, and ensures corrective actions are implemented. Will be the lead person for 8D on all recordable accidents.
Coordinates all OSHA compliance programs, including, but not limited to: PPE, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Blood Borne Pathogen, Foot Protection and Eye Protection, Confined Space, Contractor Safety and Hazard Communication
Serves as a leader of the plant's safety committee
Maintains an up-to-date emergency response procedure
Other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Minimum one (1) year of EHS experience, or equivalent, in a manufacturing environment.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.
No relocation is available for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Arden, NC facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Safety, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical), or Environmental Health and Safety from an accredited institution
Knowledge of OSHA regulations
Lean fundamental understanding
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work as a self-starter or as part of a team
