    Position summary

    evels and develop actions to increase maturity, Guide and mentor Pune LIPE team for concept, detailed design and industrialization activities.

    • Lead design & development of Overhead & underground medium voltage protection system/ sub-system as per marketing requirements
    • Complete system/ sub-system component sizing, modeling and simulation to meet customer requirements and IEEE standards, especially with di-electric, partial discharge, thermal and structural requirements
    • Design medium voltage overhead products such as on-load, off-load and under oil switches considering manufacturability and assembly
    • Develop innovative solutions to minimize iterations and quick prototyping
    • Collaborate with SCM to develop ecosystem in India for prototype and testing capabilities
    • Research, review, and implement best-practices, new and emerging technologies, and design patterns to new and existing development.
    • Maintain and enhance technical proficiency in mechanical engineering related development environments, processes, and tools.
    • Plan and manage development work to achieve on-time delivery of NPD, features and enhancements.
    • Utilize VAVE approach to build strong cost out portfolio for LIPE
    • Coordinate and collaborate with product owners and systems, Design, simulation, Reliability, Marketing, and manufacturing development teams to produce engineering designs and specifications for new features and enhancements.
    • Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks as they arise during development.
    • Mentor and coach less experienced members of the team in all aspects of GD&T, manufacturing, assembly etc.
    • Generate ideas and innovative solutions which will provide competitive edge to business products.
    • Think creatively and come out with new proposals and present them to stakeholders.
    • Develop design guidelines, best practices and lessons learnt documents and shares with peers and team.
    • Actively participates in paper presentations, tech talks and external university forums.
    • Estimate work load, establish and maintain project schedules and monitor progress through the project execution phases.
    • Contribute to team's technical growth by engaging in technical discussion and mentoring.
    • Active communication with the cross functional team to ensure schedule, cost and performance alignment.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering in Mechanical
    8-12 years
    Minimum of 7+ of experience in electromechanical product development, experience on overhead products is preferred

    Skills:

    • Experience of technical leadership to project team through all stages of the product development cycle
    • Experience in short circuit, temperature rise, Dielectric in accordance with IEEE/IEC standards
    • Hands on experience in product development leveraging DfX methodology
    • Engineering technical expertise to solve problems and make design recommendations
    • Proficient in Inventor and 3D modelling
    • Knowledge in Agile ProLaunch and PreLaunch processes
    • Expertise on identifying technical risks and implementing proactive mitigation plans
    • Experience in test object requirements, plan for assembly and finalize test parameters & instrumentation
    • Knowledge of power systems, underground protection, loadbreak & deadbreak connectors

    Desired:
    • Sound technical knowledge in Electrical products like MV switches, connectors, loadbreaking, short citcuit etc.
    • Thorough understanding of IEEE/IEC standards, 3D modelling in inventor & SAP knowledge,
    • Extensive experience with product design, prototyping, testing, agile methodologies
    • Sound technical knowledge on manufacturing processes such as sheetmetal, machining, molding, extrusion etc
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills,Problem solving skills,Working in ambuiguity, process management
