    What you'll do?

    Quality & CI Process Alignment: Implement the Eaton Lean System (ELSS) and the Eaton Quality System (EQS) and ensure adherence to ISO 9000 quality procedures and work instructions while actively participating in the quality improvement process. Employ process improvement, cost reduction and quality improvement processes in conjunction with the Eaton Business System.

    Leadership: Supervise the administration of Eaton and plant policies/guidelines to ensure consistent and uniform application. Direct the development and implementation of cost, productivity and strategic manufacturing programs consistent with plant objectives.

    Analytics & Metrics: Analyze department capacity restrictions, develop alternative plans to improve methods and layouts, and recommend new equipment expenditures to align capacity with plant objectives. Identify metrics for key business drivers and reinforce knowledge of them throughout the assembly operation.

    Department Planning: Effectively manage the departmental budget, including the tracking of all capital equipment as well as department manpower and capacity planning. Maintain departmental tooling and equipment, including the provision of new/replacement hand tools etc.

    Facility Management: Oversee the repair and upkeep of equipment and machinery, manage a responsive facilities and maintenance team, and maintain service equipment, tools, and spare parts inventory while developing and sustaining a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program to drive operational excellence.

    Maintenance Operations: Coordinating the installation and relocation of equipment in accordance with delegated move plans, and managing the work of external mechanical contractors to ensure compliance with plant standards and timelines.

    Personnel Management: Partner with Human Resources on recruitment (assessment and selection) for entry level openings and promotional opportunities within the department. Provide on-going mentoring, coaching and development of direct reports to instill a team-focused and quality culture within the department. Complete annual performance evaluation/mid-year progress reviews for all direct reports, identify opportunities for development and support employees through on-going coaching/counseling. Fully deploy Talent Hub/ Talent Hub-Manufacturing within the department, meeting all Talent Hub requirements and due dates. Manage the Eaton Survey feedback process within the department.

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field
    • Minimum 3 years of related experience, including supervisory experience
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Be legally authorized to work in Canada without the sponsorship of a company
    • No relocation is offered for this position

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience with fabrication equipment such as turret punches, press brakes, spot welding, powder coating, etc.

    • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role or function

    • Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing processes and Six Sigma Tools

The candidate will require strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, which will be essential when working with front line employees in a fast-paced environment. A proven ability with computers and various types of software will be essential for the candidate, in addition to a strong analytical aptitude and complex problem-solving skills.
