The Apple Mac Engineering Specialist is responsible for the administration and engineering of around 5,000 Mac endpoints with enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures. This includes engineering and support of our core applications including web browsers and productivity suites and defining the right hardware for the organization. The successful candidate will be considered a subject matter expert for all technical aspects of managing and configuring the Mac enterprise environment. This candidate will be comfortable providing solutions to technical issues, researching, and developing fresh solutions, and setting the right priorities and objectives to help drive the Modern Desktop strategy. Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy (GPO) administration
Extensive experience as an end-user computing engineer and administrator, a leader in defining and implementing technical solutions
Experience with desktop virtualization solutions such as Citrix or Windows Virtual Desktop
10+ years of experience providing IT administration and engineering services within an Enterprise managed desktop environment
Familiar with the creation of best practices, IT standards and roadmaps Technical Skills and Qualifications
Expert-level understanding of the Apple OS operating system, including image management, OSD (operating system deployment), and Modern Endpoint Management
JAMF Pro:
JAMF Pro certification for managing Apple devices including device enrollment, configuration, security management, software deployment, and inventory management
Apple Business Manager:
to facilitate device enrollment, device management, app and book distribution, and Apple ID management
Apple Configurator:
Deep understanding and practical knowledge of Apple Configurator to configure and manage large numbers of Apple devices, device provisioning, configuration, and app deployment and integration using JAMF or other management tools
Apple Remote Desktop to remotely manage and control Apple devices, remote screen sharing, software deployment, and remote assistance
Apple Deployment Programs:
Facilitate deployment of Apple devices across the global enterprise. ADP includes Device Enrollment Program (DEP), and the Volume Purchase Program (VPP)
Experience working in an outsourced enterprise desktop management environment
Experience designing and implementing a range of End-User computing technologies in an enterprise setting
