Director, Global Ecommerce, La Mer Global Online The Director, Global eCommerce is responsible for commercial strategies and programs to drive global sales growth across brand sites, retailer sites, and 3PPs for the La Mer Brand. They must be a strategic thinker with an in-depth understanding of e-commerce sales drivers, including both new customer acquisition and loyalty/retention programs. The Director must develop effective working relationships with regional online business teams, including leading monthly business reviews, sharing best practices and playbooks, and supporting locally relevant commercial needs and new business opportunities where relevant. They are responsible for maintaining an up-to-date understanding of key global online business trends and KPIs, which requires a strong analytical background and the ability to work with data from a variety of sources (web analytics, financial reporting, etc.). This role reports directly into the Executive Director, Global eCommerce, La Mer Global Online. They will work closely with Global Online Regional teams (especially North America), Global Brand Creative, Global Brand Marketing, and Corporate Online partners. Responsibilities include:
· Commercial Strategy o Build out global commercial strategies to empower regional & affiliate online teams in achieving top-line sales and growth targets o Maximize the commercial impact of online key shopping moments, https://e.g. Black Friday. Oversee a Manager in developing the go-to-market strategy and supporting assets for these moments, in partnership with global & regional teams o Support Consumer Marketing to develop online-specific strategies and tactics to drive cross-category brand priorities, https://e.g. accelerating specific consumer segments o Drive https://brand.com acquisition, retention, repeat, & loyalty. Partner with Consumer Marketing & Creative to ensure global assets meet online needs and develop online-specific playbooks for markets to activate o Identify and build out opportunities for Global Online to partner and drive growth for https://non-brand.com channels, with a focus on China & Asia o Maintain a pulse on locally led pilots and innovations to identify opportunities with broader potential; adapt these opportunities into global playbooks to drive broader adoption · Strategic Implementation o Build a strong partnerships with Global Marketing & Creative teams to ensure robust asset support for Online strategic priorities o Partner with regional online teams to ensure that markets have the tools & training they need to run their businesses; organize and led workshops, trainings, and/or best practice sharing sessions as needed o Support priority markets (https://e.g. China, US) in implementing specific online strategies, piloting new sales-driving initiatives, and developing new business opportunities o Develop a plan and lead execution for auditing on-the-ground execution for specific strategic priorities; identify opportunities and additional support needed based on audit outcomes · Insights & Reporting o Build out, maintain, and/or refine global processes and reports for monitoring online business trends and KPIs on a recurring basis o Integrate qualitative feedback with quantitative insights into monthly global online business recaps; identify areas of opportunity and partner with regional teams to activate or mitigate o Provide ad hoc analytical support to Executive Director, brand and online leadership, and other partners as needed
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications · Proven track record (8+ years) of driving online sales, strategy, and excellence in execution across both DTC and wholesale channels; beauty or luxury experience strongly preferred · Strong understanding of online consumer behaviors and market trends across global regions, especially in China & Asia; ability to converse and read in Mandarin Chinese strongly preferred · Data-driven mindset supported by strong analytical skills; prior experience with financial figures, web analytics, and business reporting strongly preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas and processes · Ability to translate Brand vision to the online channel and develop commercial strategies that support this vision · Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment that requires significant cross-functional partnership, with an emphasis on influence & persuasion over direct execution · BA/BS required, MBA preferred The anticipated base salary range for this position is $117,000 to $202,100. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
