Aries is looking for a Technical Product Manager who will own one or more product features and lead execution on technical projects, such as migration of services to cloud infrastructure, development of web services and APIs, and instrumenting system performance and monitoring tools.
He/she will own product development plans and represent features or projects within the cross-functional team, plan and detail new features that address a business, operational or customer pain points. The successful candidate must be comfortable working with structured data, working hand in hand with Product Managers and partners throughout the entire product development lifecycle, including requirements gathering and story writing.
Anticipate customer needs and prioritize those for the organization.
Continuously aim to meet customer expectations without compromising the commercial viability of the product.
Actively gather data from multiple sources (customer, market analysis, sales and revenue, etc.) to drive solutions to business problems and issues of consequence to the company.
Make trade-off decisions between potential product capabilities.
Evaluate product hypotheses in a quantitative manner.
Generate new ideas by analyzing product data for insights.
Support the go to market strategy with good communication of customer requirements and timelines to stakeholders.
Assist on launch plans through coordinated development with external customer facing teams such as marketing and sales.
Answer sales and customer questions regarding feature function, pricing, packaging, value proposition and competition.
Outline key milestones, outcomes and deliverables during go-to-market and product strategy planning.
Solve customer issues with product features that achieve business goals and metrics.
Participate in product discovery, according to defined process, for new product development.
Determine strategic product vision and priorities for a feature area, and shape/champion future product direction.
Independently use information derived from competitive analysis to drive product direction and strategy.
Understand, formulate and budget the operating costs required to deliver the revenues.
Create product development plans including opportunity assessment and business case.
Consider high-level technical approaches to use when prioritizing functionality.
Able to ask effective questions and collect facts from multiple sources in order to solve problems
Able to effectively identify and analyze problems and propose solutions
Effectively manage day-to-day issues and problems without intervention
Brainstorm with others to look for different approaches to current process and tasks, and experiment with new ideas as part of role

Is familiar with SDLCs as identified by management e.g. agile processes.
Minimum 4-6 years of PM experience, preferably technical PM experience or a previous software engineering background
Domain experience in scholarly publishingpreferred, but not essential
Recognized as full owner of a product or multiple features or projects, preferably technical in nature such as APIs and infrastructure related
Identified, led and released changes or enhancements that improved customer in satisfaction and/or commercial impact.
Demonstration of thorough product development knowledge, include the ability to develop related business cases, content and product plans.
Successful participation in customer engagements.
Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical subject (Computer Science or Engineering discipline) is preferred, but not essential.
