What You'll Do

We are seeking a strong leader to fill the role of Director, Revenue Cycle Management Operations. As a key member of the RCM team supporting our Bracing & Supports business, this position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, processes and technology to continuously improve and manage the revenue cycle in a fast-paced, high-volume, evolving DME healthcare market. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consults and works directly with leadership across managed care payers and with technology to advise and consult on key processes and resource needs to improve operations, productivity and collection rates.
  • Leads the development and implementation of revenue cycle strategies, processes and improvement initiatives to continuously improve the RCM process to maximize the Company’s billings and collections.
  • Analyzes, determines, and implements the structure of the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Team and locations to maximize RCM operational service levels and cost.
  • Ensures the identification, analysis, and implementation of solutions designed to improve collection rates, reduce bad debt, and reduce day sales outstanding.
  • Drives the design, execution, monitoring, and assessment of key RCM performance metrics to refine processes and improve efficiencies and productivity to reduce overall costs.
  • Leads and manages large revenue cycle projects such as audits, budgets, and technology enhancements.
  • Manages vendor relationships and works with our service provider(s) to deliver agreed-upon results, and drive cost, quality, and process improvement by establishing well-defined processes, sharing best practices, and ensuring effective working relationships.
  • Acts as a liaison amongst external vendor and internal stakeholders. 
  • Communicates updates, processes, requirements and expectations to vendor as needed and tracks, measures, and reports on vendor performance.
  • Assist in the management of vendor-related projects and facilitates and coordinates change management efforts.
  • Delivers continuous improvements by creating RCM efficiencies through system selection/automation, process design, and avoiding waste/redundancy.
  • Ensures compliance in all aspects of RCM activities including coding and billing rules and regulations by payer and state.
  • Maintains knowledge of third-party payor regulations including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Workers Compensation and non-governmental payers.
  • Adheres to all internal Corporate Compliance guidelines, OIG, government healthcare regulations, regulatory policies and procedures, and privacy and security standards in accordance with government agencies, including HIPAA requirements.

Leadership 

  • Provides mentorship, guidance, and leadership needed to instill a team-oriented and results-driven team.
  • Conducts routine conference calls, team meetings, and one-on-one meetings with team as necessary to drive business goals.
  • Performs functional supervision including staff scheduling, hiring, performance and evaluation and terminations.     
  • Leads staff performance management activities to improve capabilities and skills using regular objective setting and review process, performing appraisals and coaching of individuals on development plans.
  • Responsible for managing the activities of direct reports and ensuring the organization’s abilities continue to improve through individual development and developing talent throughout the organization.

Management

  • Responsible for strategic, tactical and operational planning (24+ months) for the function or department.
  • Has direct budgetary responsibility for department, functions or major projects/programs.
  • Develops, interprets and executes policies for departments and/or projects.
  • Recommends and implements new policies or modifications to existing policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in DME Reimbursement (RCM) or a related field equivalent required. 
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry, payer relations, and functional compliance regulations and standards required.
  • Previous experience managing people required. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams required.
  • Strong understanding of business strategies and drivers, particularly in a sales organization.
  • Experience using DataWorks or similar case management software strongly preferred.
  • Experience with OnBase strongly preferred.
  • MBA preferred.

TRAVEL

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time; both domestic and international travel is required.
  • Typical work-related travel assignments range 1-7 days, and as such overnight, out-of-town stays are required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Typical office environment.
  • Physical Demands: May occasionally lift up to 10 pounds. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboard, phone, print. Required to talk and hear. Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time and use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and to manipulate keys on a keyboard and operate portable input devices (e.g., smart phone, mouse). May occasionally reach with hands and arms. Must have the ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time.
