    Position summary

    Job Description:

    The ideal candidate will have experience in creating great UX solutions and the architecture to support them, and a proven ability to innovate.   The Sr. Power BI Developer/Architect will be responsible for senior level hands-on Power BI development, recommending consolidation and efficiencies in development.  Architecture and UX development in a cloud DWH environment.  The Sr. Power BI Developer/Architect will work closely with business users and the BI team on interactively and iteratively developing and architecting analytical and predictive solutions. 

    Responsibilities:                                                                                                        

    • Design, develop, test, and deploy Senior level Power BI reports
    • Identify opportunities to provide end users with analytics vs standard reporting solutions
    • Develop dashboards using predictive analytics, exception reporting and KPI’s
    • Create customized charts and custom calculations as per requirements
    • Develop and maintain self-service reporting solutions and/or automated solutions
    • Architecting efficient and effective Data Visualizations best practices across the team
    • Identifying and communicating functional and technical issues proactively
    • Work with end users to provide technical support and guidance through design, prototyping, testing, and delivering a comprehensive solution
    • Resolve production issues through root cause analysis, data investigation, QA & testing
    • Own the accuracy of the data presented to users through validation and testing
    • Create and run ad-hoc reports as needed
    • Architecting the environment to be current on the latest Power BI features and functionality
    • Architect and drive the optimization of visualizations to improve efficiencies and run times
    • On call as needed
    • Mentor and teach others to use the tools and to interpret data
    • Self-starter/able to work independently

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science in Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or closely related field or equivalent work experience
    • Fluent in speaking and writing English
    • 8 years senior level Power BI design & development experience
    • 3 years Power BI architectural responsibilities
    • 4 years Power BI data querying and modeling capabilities, such as creation of calculated columns, measures, and relationships
    • 3 years’ experience performing complex data transformations using DAX & Power Query
    • 5 years SQL experience
    • Previous experience applying Row Level (RLS) & Column Level Security (CLS) a plus
    • Ability to collaborate and partner with management, team leads and project managers to deliver project and work assignments
    • Proven ability at solving challenging data issues
    • Knowledge of relational database systems, logical/physical data modeling, and DWH experience
    • Proven ability at taking initiative and being innovative
    • Strong communicator and team player
    • PowerBI user administration/security a plus
    • Experience in a lead role a plus
    • Oracle EBS knowledge a plus
