What You'll Do

Colfax Corporation (NYSE: CFX) is a diversified $4 billion revenue global diversified technology company that provides orthopedic and fabrication technology products and services to customers around the world under its DJO and ESAB business platforms.  Colfax portfolio brands are among the most highly recognized in the markets they serve.

Since its founding as an industrial fluid handling business in 1995 by Steve and Mitch Rales (the founders of Danaher Corporation and its spin-off Fortive), Colfax has grown through a series of acquisitions and organic growth. At the beginning of 2012, Colfax began a new chapter in its evolution with the acquisition of Charter International plc. and its two premier industrial franchises, ESAB and Howden, which transformed the Company into a multi-platform industrial enterprise with a broad global footprint.

Following the Charter acquisition, the Company has completed over 25 acquisitions to grow and strengthen its business platforms. Matt Trerotola, a former Danaher executive, was hired as CEO in 2015 and has stimulated improvements in Colfax’s cost structure and profit margins. He has also increased the organization’s focus on growth including new business platforms, while empowering associates to use the Colfax Business System (CBS) for impact.

In 2017, Colfax sold its original fluid handling business as part of a long-term strategy to improve its portfolio of businesses and accelerate growth. In 2019, Colfax sold its Howden business and acquired DJO Global, a leader serving orthopedic medical providers and patients. In 2021, the Company announced that it will be separating into two independent companies (ESAB and Enovis – the new name for Colfax) in the first quarter of 2022. Each business will be well-positioned for growth and long-term value creation.

Certain press release and SEC filing information concerning the Company is also available at www.colfaxcorp.com/.

Company Business System and Culture

At its founding, the Company adopted the Colfax Business System (“CBS”) as its business management system to pursue growth in sales, profit, and cash flow. Modeled on the Danaher Business System and its predecessor Toyota Production System, CBS is the foundation of Colfax’s culture and drives performance. It provides the tools, processes, and techniques to ensure continuous improvements to meet or exceed customer requirements on a consistent basis, fostering profitable growth – and an enduring premier global enterprise. CBS will live on in the new company as EGX – Enovis Growth Excellence.
