About the role and what you'll be doing

Are you ready to step into a leadership role on an engineering team that is helping to modernize clients' mainframe solutions? In this role, you will be working with a team of experts responsible for delivering a quality product to the client on schedule. Ensono migrates legacy applications to modern platforms using automated tools. The Senior Modernization Software Engineer will be responsible for taking the lead on projects, developing the core classes for the client's modernized environment, and interfacing with customers.

Responsibilities:

• Leading client meetings and interaction, being the relentless ally for the client and unleashing them to do great things

• Broad range of Mainframe expertise including solid analytical skills in combination with strong application development. Code and Test Cobol/DB2 programs.

• Developing our libraries for modernized environments

• Assume technical leadership on projects to test modernized code to ensure it is performing as intended.

• Ensure that problems are appropriately analyzed, and code corrections and improvements properly implemented.

• Providing consultation and teachable moments to more junior members of the team

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in testing Mainframe Applications,
• Expertise in both Manual and Automation testing, and a strong understanding of JCLs.
• Knowledge of coding and automation is essential.
• Expertise in writing test cases and test strategies
• Experience with legacy languages or databases - Mainframe, COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, IDEAL, Datacom
• Experience with -

  • Object-oriented programming in Java, C#, or similar languages

  • Eclipse or Visual Studio

  • Spring or .NET

  • Relational Databases (SQL/MYSQL/ORACLE)

Preferred Qualifications

• Problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills

• Ability to mentor junior colleagues on the team

• Undergraduate/Post Graduate degree, coding boot camp certification, or equivalent experience

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure cloud technology
