    Data Center Expense Analyst

    Job Summary

    As a Data Center Expense Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and monitoring the expenses of a data center. You will work closely with finance, procurement, and technical teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, develop budgets and forecasts, and ensure that expenses are in line with company goals and objectives.

    Responsibilities

    Procure to Pay Process

    • Creates Purchase Requisitions for the country/region expenses within a moderate scope

    • Monitors Purchase order KPIs and recommends process improvements

    • Resolves PO problems through partnership with internal and external stakeholders

    • Analyzes budget and commitments for trends to resolve inconsistencies and process adherence issues

    Budget Management

    • Coordinates and consolidates budget and forecast inputs from Data Center Operations teams, completes analysis to help drive forecast adjustments

    Reporting

    • Runs and provides commitment tracking reporting to Data Center teams, supporting Ops finance on month end reporting, variance commentary, and supporting the accrual process

    • Generate KPI reporting around Ops tasks completion and accuracy (such as receipting) and provides  analysis

    • Provides process improvement recommendations and supports implementation efforts

    Business Relationships

    • Key touch point for Ops team on finance admin related queries

    • Partners with vendors for moderate query resolution management working closely with the Accounts Payable team

    • Ensures budget, forecast and month end results are timely and accurate

    • Acts as the link between the business and Finance to meet commitments

    Financial Problem Solving

    • Solves problems and applies experience to analyze possible solutions within a moderate scope

    • Investigates actual vs. forecast variances and supports development of executive summaries 

    • Conducts month end accrual process

    • Provides moderate levels of analysis and performs ad hoc duties as required; calls out sophisticated analytic needs to FP&A team

    • Provides recommendations for process improvement/efficiency gains and supports implementation efforts

    Qualifications

    • At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis or expense management, preferably in a data center or IT environment or

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Proficiency in Excel and other financial analysis tools.

    • Knowledge of data center operations and technologies.

    • Understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
