The Payroll Senior Specialist will be responsible for managing the payroll in our APAC countries with focus in Japan and China. 

Responsibilities

• Payroll processing and maintain payroll records and reports

• Data collection and entry for monthly preparation of payroll for various countries

• Prepare payroll journal entries and responsible for payroll month end close cycle

• Provide analysis for monthly activity for payroll related balance sheet account collaboration

• Timely execution of salary, taxes, pensions payroll and benefit related payments

• Prepare and maintain accurate and compliant records for internal and external audit control procedures. Responsible for all audit related inquires, escalating as needed

• Analyze all variances and comment on all fluxes as required during financial close process

• Coordinate and collaborate with cross functional teams such as HR, Finance, Tax, Global Mobility in administration of payroll matters

• Manage local payroll vendors and research and resolves issues or problems on service provided

• Select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to improve payroll processes and operational policies

• Attend to payroll queries from employees

• Stay up to date with local payroll regulations

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in a payroll environment

• Bachelor's degree preferred

• Strong experience and in-depth knowledge of payrolls in Japan and China

• High proficiency in spoken and written Japanese required to manage Japanese speaking stakeholders and vendor

• Experience with HR technologies such as Workday, SAP, Peoplesoft

• Proficient with MS Office, advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot table and VLOOKUP and capable of handling volume of data

• Problem solving mindset & positive attitude. Experience working in a global matrix organization is a plus

• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
