Job Summary
The Sr. Manager of Events and Content is an exciting position at Equinix, reporting to the Head of Global Events. This role has been created to oversee our portfolio of internal events, including Equinix’s award-winning, annual global sales meeting, the company’s annual sales incentive trip, leadership offsites and much more! Equinix takes pride in putting on world class events. As such, it is imperative that our event content reflects the current state of our business and industry trends, and that the attendee experience is both educational and motivating. The ideal candidate will be a natural trend-watcher and have awareness of key themes and current events across a variety of topics from economics, and politics and business to fashion, art, cuisine and pop culture. This role is designed for a leader who is a strategic thinker and an effective communicator (written and verbal) and for someone who excels at leading teams to successful outcomes on large-scale, high-visibility, fast-paced projects involving key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
This is a leadership role responsible for overseeing an internal team as well as managing cross-functional projects that include both internal resources and outside vendors. Responsibilities include:
Event Strategy
Determine target audience/personas
Determine event goals and objectives
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs)
Create event strategy and content creation processes, templates and best practices
Voice of the Attendee Research and Measurement
Conduct industry and online research to inform agenda development and design
Qualitative and quantitative pre- and post-event attendee research
Analyze and summarize performance against objectives to help focus investments and optimize the attendee experience
Event Experience
Develop event themes and supporting key messages
Determine agenda framework: topics, priorities, concerns, gaps, opportunities
Establish agenda design to optimize attendee experience through a combination of formats breakouts, keynotes, fireside chats, interactive activities, etc
Infuse agenda with creative elements and surprises
Content Creation and Speaker Management
Establish content framework and oversee content development
Oversee creative expression of event theme and objectives
Secure outside speakers to achieve objectives
Support Equinix executive speakers and their teams in content creation
Research and prepare recommendations for external speakers
Source and manage external speakers
Conduct internal and external speaker briefings
Event Communication Strategy
Oversee communication plan, including establishing effective and creative ways to communicate with attendees (includes setting strategy and developing content for the mobile app)
Internal Communication Strategy
Engage with event stakeholders, including Equinix executives, to inform event agenda and content design
Manage regular content and communication updates through the Global Events Hub online portal
Qualifications
· Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing, communications or journalism
· Requires event management experience, with a specific focus on strategy and content
· Requires management experience, including having managed a team of direct reports as well as having managed vendors
· Proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
· Strong team player and leader who will hold others accountable to deliverables and budgets
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $120,000 to $216,000
California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $112,000 to $202,000
Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $101,000 to $183,000
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
