    Position summary

    Telecom Infrastructure Engineer

    Job Summary:

    Mid-level Telecom engineering professional with well-established experience in applications, systems and hardware. May also have experience in audit.

    Responsibilities

    Telecom Incident Response

    • Responsible for day-to-day Telecom incident response, 24/7/365

    • Investigates, researches and analyzes Telecom incidents as they are escalated or reported

    • Uses established procedures for remediation of incidents, escalating as needed for additional guidance

    • Responsible for maintaining 95% SLA for incident resolution

    Telecom Operations

    • Responsible for day-to-day Telecom operations, 24/7/365

    • Responsible for administration and maintenance of the global telecom infrastructure

    • Responsible for telecom operational issues and support that cannot be resolved by the Global Helpdesk team

    • Responsible for maintaining 99.999% uptime SLA

    • Provides support for UAT and DR activities by following the documented process

    Data Center/Office Expansion/M&A Integration and Support

    • Executes against documented plan

    • Orders and installs new equipment

    • Resolves issues and/or escalates issues to manager or IBX construction/project manager

    • Travels to sites, as necessary

    Telecom Architecture

    • Works as directed by the Sr. Telecom staff to implement new technologies or architectural changes

    • Assists the internal customers in reviewing and assessing Telecom resource requirements

    For Operations Telecom Engineers - These additional responsibilities may apply

    • Assigns resources and budget for 3rd party services (i.e. Vendor Management for ISP/OSP construction; Leased Dark Fiber)

    • Participates in the development of new products or services (i.e. High density 1728-count fiber cable; MetroLink fiber tethering IBX’s in a regional market; Virtual Reality for Design & Construction)

    • Technical expert within the job family (i.e. Principals of Fiber Optic Engineering – including testing, certification, acceptance)

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years experience

    • Bachelor's preferred

    • CCNA Voice/Video/Collaboration Certification preferred

    • Must currently reside in the US
