Weir Minerals Australia LTD, a member of the Weir Group PLC, is the market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of slurry pumps and allied minerals processing equipment to the mining industry, both within Australia and throughout the world.

Currently we have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and pro-active Foundry Worker to join the Foundry team based out of our Artarmon, NSW site. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient distribution of metal to moulds, mould set up, mould clamping and ladle making.

The key responsibilities of this role will include: (but not limited to)

  • Raise safety concerns and hazards.
  • Report OHS&E issues to the melting & pouring supervisor.
  • Participate in the Weir disciplinary system when policies and neglected.
  • Train, follow and enforce all SOPS’s relevant to the department.
  • Ensure that Housekeeping is in order throughout the shift.
  • Tagging and reporting of any damaged or dangerous equipment and reported to maintenance.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Evidence of more than 12-month experience within an industrial environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
  • High risk work license, Dogging certificate and forklift license – desirable, non essential
  • High attention to detail
