Position summary

Business Need / Purpose of Role:

The GL Team Lead is responsible for supporting the Global Business Solutions (GBS) management team with strategy, work transitions, organizational design, continuous improvement, and analytics. They will also manage commercials, stakeholder relationships and operational performance. As a valued colleague on our team, they will support the GBS executive in day-to-day operational matters and will be called on to collaborate, lead and troubleshoot areas of concern inclusive of targeted balance sheet reviews, reconciliation review, problematic accounts, and processes.

Objectives & Measurement

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen and expand the Shared Services organization, services, and operational resiliency
  • Support the three organizational infrastructure pillars: Projects and Transitions, Continuous Improvement, Analytics
  • In this role, you will analyze data and develop reports to support executive decision making, as well as coordinate staff activities, develop processes and methods for analyzing data including developing reports to support executive decision making
  • Drive KPIs and benchmarks in partnership with our GBS managers, aligning Weir GBS to global trends, best practices, tools and technology
  • Contributes to large-scale strategic projects as well as ongoing operational activities as necessary, conduct monthly reviews and report outs with key stakeholders
  • Help GBS management team manage our multi-tower operational performance as well as document root cause and remediation efforts as issues arise
  • Sponsor new opportunities to leverage supplier capabilities across the Shared Services network
  • Develop, negotiate and continuously monitor Service Level Agreements, help conduct monthly stakeholder operating reviews of performance vs SLAs
  • Help oversee GBS commercials: develop, manage and monitor applicable budgets and forecasts as well pressure test actuals
  • Creates management reports and presentations to keep senior leadership up to date on schedule, budget, deliverable status and other executive requests

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • BBA in Accounting

  • CPA designation

  • Prior Project and Program Management experience

  • Gather and evaluate data on business operations, human capital, and resources

  • Prior experience executing key actions

Physical Demands:  

  • Sit, talk, hear, and/or use hands to handle and touch objects  
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch 
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision, and depth perception 
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
