Develops and conducts the technical training program to ensure the safe and effective performance of Gas Dispatch employees. Training includes both classroom and on-the-job training and would incorporate both conceptual and simulated instructional methods. Responsibilities also include participation in testing and evaluation of new tools, materials, and technology, the ongoing revision and maintenance of standards and procedures, multi state cross training requirements, as well as conducting of quality assurance audits, evaluation and certification of dispatch employees. Coordinates training and communication needs with others on behalf of the Gas Dispatch organization.
Requires knowledge of gas utility, metering, regulations and safety standards and business processes.
Demonstrated leadership and coaching abilities with the capability to direct the work of others.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
Knowledge of customer service activities and customer relations.
Good working knowledge of, or ability to learn, C2, CIS, Ventex, Cognos, CAD (Computer Aided Design) systems, Clickserve, and ARCOS as well as various customer systems
Excellent communication skills, ability to present concepts, as well as provide technical instruction with clarity, confidence and enthusiasm.
Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Sharepoint and Power BI).
Working knowledge of labor contracts.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Communications or related discipline or equivalent experience
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires sitting, standing, walking, and using computers and telephones.
Travel to other company locations between MA and CT is required. Travel to other non-company locations to attend training may also be required.
This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.
