    Description

    Role Context:

    • Identity & Fraud (ID&F) is one of the most vibrant business units of Experian, currently undergoing the most remarkable Digital Transformation across its product line-up.

    • It is a particularly exciting and pivotal time for ID&F as we begin decomposing several monolithic applications into microservices and deploying them into the cloud.

    • As an ID&F Software Engineering Lead (.NET Core), you will be part of a high-performance engineering team contributing to and leading other engineers to deliver the product backlog of ID&F's market-leading Identity Services platform.

    • You will work closely with other Software Engineers to build our cloud-native microservices and web applications using the latest technologies and architectural patterns whilst leading a group of engineers to do the same.

    Essential Soft Skills

    • You have extensive experience in managing, cross-functional engineering teams.

    • You are capable of supporting, mentoring, and developing less experienced engineers.

    • You have experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners to shape and contribute to the outcomes across distributed groups.

    • You will have and willingness to to adhere to deadlines and team commitments.

    • You stay informed about relevant technology trends and developments, keen to keep up to date with software engineering best practices, technologies, and architectural patterns.

    Responsibilities

    • As a Leader, you will create a culture and necessary environment where your Team have all the conditions for success.

    • You will work with the Engineering and Delivery Managers to agree and deliver your Team's product backlog commitments in time and within budget.

    • You will set the standards for your Team's software engineering best practices.

    • You will work closely with the Team and the ID&F Senior Leadership Team to create a environment where individuals are happy and effective in their roles.

    • You will work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure compliance with Experian's security policy and associated security scorecard whilst delivering the backlog of planned and unplanned activities related to security, app, & infrastructure remediation.

    Essential Technical Skills

    • 10+ years of experience in managing, cross-functional engineering teams
    • We expect you to have considerable experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of building mission-critical, high-volume transaction web-based software systems, preferably in regulated environments (finance and insurance industries).
    • You will already have proven your ability to implement agile ways of working across multiple teams successfully.
    • You will already have proven your ability to manage and lead a engineering team.
    • You will have extensive knowledge of the following technologies and software engineering best practices.
      • ASP.Net Core

      • RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Web API (.NET Core)

      • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)

      • SOLID Principles

      • Software Design Patterns like Adapter, Decorator, Facade and Factory patterns.

      • Test-Driven Development (xUnit.Net, NUnit)

      • Open API / Swagger

      • Source Code Management tools (Git, Bitbucket)

    Desirable certifications & additional skills:

    • Jira & Bitbucket.

    • Docker & Kubernetes

    • AWS Associated Developer.

    • Experience in building microservices.

    • You have worked in an agile environment using a Scrum approach.
