The Imminent Risk team identifies trends from industry changes and political developments around the world to mitigate or prevent risks to Facebook and its users by delivering action-oriented assessments and critical insights to internal partners. We're seeking a strong problem-solver who can drive across a number of risk vectors, specifically within the Latin America (LATAM) region, including working with key stakeholders, and who thrives in an ambiguous, high-pressure environment. You have a passion for uncovering geopolitical risks, tracking current political events and public affairs, and managing complex initiatives across operations teams to address identified problems. You will quickly implement solutions while activating partners and subject matter experts as needed.
- Drive risk analysis and strategy as it relates to LATAM integrity issues across product, policy and enforcement
- Leverage critical and adversarial thinking to effectively prioritize a variety of known and unknown potential risk vectors
- Exhibit business intuition: define and test multiple risk hypotheses by leveraging data analytics and statistical knowledge
- Develop & coordinate the cross-functional preparation and response efforts to address imminent threats on the Facebook family of apps
- Serve as main team liaison to key local cross-functional partners
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders around LATAM issues, including Strategic Response, Public Policy and Communications, identifying clear roles and responsibilities, and creating accountability across contributors to achieve goals mentioned above
- Effectively educate and influence leaders and partners on the risk landscape to gain alignment and establish consensus
Utilize internal resources and tools to understand content risk and inform how they can best contribute to risk mitigation execution strategies
- 4+ years of experience in program/project management, consulting, investigations, online ads, public policy, press management, internet safety or political campaigning/consulting
- Experience in risk analysis, risk prioritization and risk mitigation efforts
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese
- Knowledge of Latin American geopolitics
- Experience with complex project management
- Demonstrated experience in handling high-intensity projects/work that require flexibility and a sense of urgency
- Experience communicating effectively to a variety of audiences, including Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, Public Policy Directors, and other leadership
Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving skills
- Experience using tools like SQL and Excel to drive analytics and reporting
- Experience working in a large-scale, global operations team
- Experience in crisis management and threat analysis work
MBA, Masters, or graduate degree in Economics, Political Science, Crisis Management, Public Policy/Operations fields
