The Edge Systems team is responsible for building tools, automation and metrics to help us build out the Edge network with minimal human effort. Our goal in the Edge team is to make sure we can reach all users of Facebook properties (including WhatsApp, Instagram, Oculus, Messenger, etc.) with high quality, during any situation. In this team we try to identify which parts of both Facebook and our partner ISP's networks need attention, and then try to remediate those issues as automatically as possible.
- Provide technical and organizational leadership
- Communicate cross-functionally and drive engineering efforts
Hold your own in technical discussion, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence
- 5+ years of software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management
- 5+ years of coding experience in one of the following languages: C++, Java, and/or PHP
- Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management
BA/BS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, 4+ years work experience)
