Facebook is looking for a Network Hardware Engineer Intern to support the development of the overall network hardware of Facebook. The intern will play an important role in the design, development and validation of our next generation networking products for our world class data centers.
- Assist in developing systems for Facebook's next generation network across a broad range of technologies including switching, routing, machine learning and transport
- High-speed SI design, AC/DC power design, PCB stackup analysis, Optoelectronic Integration
- Collaborate on new designs/solutions, bringing them from concept to operations. Contribute to requirements for new system solutions
- Work in a collaborative environment across Facebook and with ODM's & OEM's to drive Facebook's requirements for development, planning, operation and deployment
Design, develop, build and test components, and software automate systems and products based on a broad range of technologies
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Sciences and Engineering, or related field
- Programming experience in test/measurement automation and/or simulation
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience providing feedback on DFM issue on the products
- Experience using hand tools to hack electrical and mechanical parts to test out new concepts
- Experience supporting unit setup and testing to collect data
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Masters or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Sciences and Engineering, or related field
- Theory and hands on experience in electronic and mixed signal circuit design
- Knowledge in signal integrity and power design
- Knowledge in optoelectronic devices
- Knowledge in communication design
- Knowledge or experience in semiconductor devices, VLSI design, microelectronic device
- Experience in PCB design
- Scripting experience
