XRTech is responsible for the Perception Platform which is an SDK that allows teams to build capabilities into their products for:Mapping and Spatial - understanding the environment around me and its context in the world.People - understanding hands, faces, bodies, gestures, and intents for humans. Inputs - creating ways to provide input in AR & VR through keyboards, controllers, and gestures or body movements.Capture - saving moments as richly as possible through audio, video, and context awareness.Outputs - realistically recreating sensory experiences with 3D video, spatial audio, and more.The team works to understand and predict product needs on a 5+ year horizon and invest in new technical innovations (NTI), while also working to bring mature innovations into shipping products via new product integrations (NPI).The XRTech team needs a leader who is a world-class collaborator and is adept at building relationships and operating models that allow disparate teams to have strong buy-in on shared goals. They need to engender trust in their partners and be an inclusive collaborator, while also maintaining a strong point of view for the areas where the team is building something new.
- Oversee the development of shared technologies used by AR, VR, and Portal teams used to sense and understand spaces, environments, faces, bodies, objects, and context.
Manage a complex portfolio of technology investments spanning from new research to mature in-market platform capabilities.
- 10+ years of experience leading successful large scale Engineering and PM teams, and can recruit, land and grow senior managers and ICs.
- Experience working on research or incubation of new technology domains as well as on a team trying to ship products on an aggressive timeline, and deeply understands the approaches and challenges of both camps.
- Proven communicator and visionary, with demonstrated success crafting clear narratives for complex technical areas which excite the imagination, align energies, and create a clear course of action.
Experience as a collaborator, experience building models & processes for aligning work across large teams, experience building the relationships needed to cut through obstacles and quickly resolve problems.
