As part of Facebook's Central Privacy Program, we have a European Data Protection Program (EDPP) focused on General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The European Data Protection Program is chartered to operate, manage and monitor General Data Protection Program (GDPR) relevant processes to ensure regulatory compliance. We are looking for a Privacy Decision Manager to support the team in intaking, triaging and coordinating decisions on product releases and other initiatives with senior Decision Makers in Ireland and managing escalations to the Facebook Ireland Board. The Privacy Decision Manager is responsible for managing the journey of Data Protection Decisions at Facebook Ireland. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of project management and regulatory compliance to help drive the initiatives of the EDPP. In this role the successful candidate will work closely with the legal team to coordinate various decisions which involves collecting relevant information, creating documentation records and engaging senior leaders for decisioning and sign-off. A successful candidate will have substantive experience working on compliance and business projects as well as strong interpersonal and coordination skills. This is a full-time position that will be based at our International headquarters in Dublin, Ireland.
- Have working knowledge and ability to quickly learn the content and requirements of various EU laws, regulations, industry guidance, and company compliance policies, particularly related to user privacy
- Demonstrate strong capabilities with regards to information gathering and creating an Assessment Report to the Decision Maker to enable them to make an informed Data Protection Decision
- Integrate and synthesize information from multiple teams, including legal and policy domain knowledge, in order to analyze complex issues, mitigate risks and solve problems
- Become a trusted partner working cross-functionally with the office of the Data Protection Officer (oDPO), Facebook Ireland (FIL), and European Data Protection Program (EDPP) team to document, gather requirements, and drive teams to closure for Data Protection decisions
- Senior staff member engaging directly with multi-disciplinary lawyers and experts while remaining mindful of the FB Inc's goals in terms of the product or feature in question
- Drive accurate recordkeeping and ensure Data Protection decisions are recorded and that records are centrally maintained
- Lead multiple initiatives or projects to execute against project plans and compliance objectives
- Promote, manage and deliver the continuous improvement of the decision management process and report delivery
- Display effective organization skills and manage multiple and competing priorities Demonstrate data analytical skills
- and the ability to work with attention to detail, maintaining a high bar of consistency, accuracy, and quality
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills
- and the ability to maintain open, candid, and trusting work relationships
Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and ensure user privacy is not compromised
- 10+ years' experience in project management roles within the technology or professional services industries in the area of data privacy, risk management, and security
- Knowledge of the compliance and regulatory landscape and trends impacting technology companies (GDPR)
- Demonstrated sharp attention to detail in executing and reviewing work products to ensure the highest quality deliverables in the allotted timeframe
- Excellent program management, communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to influence stakeholders and engineers, including relationship building and roll-up the sleeves type of collaboration within a diverse, global, cross-functional team
Leadership experience on multiple large-scale products and systems that impact the organization's trajectory with a track record of delivering business value using technology solutions in high-tech ops and compliance space
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Risk Management, Business or related experience in Compliance/Regulatory Operations
- Experience influencing stakeholders and engineers
- Design thinking process improvement experience leveraging creativity and structure to solve complex problems
- Industry certifications relating to security, privacy, and risk management, such as CIPP, CIPM, CIPT or Information security certifications such as CISM, CISSP, CISA, and CRISC
