Facebook is looking for a highly motivated and well-connected team player to join our growing global privacy and public policy team. The successful candidate will have a background in privacy and knowledge of the technology industry. They should have a credible track record of planning and execution on projects with industry associations and groups as well as industry peers and excel at building consensus and driving successful outcomes. Candidates must have exceptional communication skills. This is a great opportunity to work on novel public policy issues in an exciting environment.
- Build and maintain strong and trusted relationships with trade associations, think tanks, cross-industry working groups, and industry peers focused on substantive privacy policy matters
- Be among the first to identify privacy related developments impacting Facebook
- Serve as a source of knowledge on privacy related issues for the broader policy and product teams
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and articulate the company's positions on key privacy and data protection issues and develop the appropriate strategies to address privacy challenges impacting the company
- Design and execute strategies for buy-in and adoption from external stakeholders
- Design and execute high impact policy strategies and programmatic initiatives to advance the companies primary goals
- Represent Facebook at meetings and conferences
Gather information about broader industry trends and developments
- 7+ years of experience in privacy and technology policy issues with proven track record
- Demonstrated experience in finding solutions to business issues and providing business-focused advice
Proven experience in working collaboratively to gain support for their desired outcomes
- Past experience in lobbying, trade work, or within technology companies
- Experience working with a web 2.0 or social networking company on privacy issues
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment and to make sound judgments under deadlines
