Facebook's Policy team is seeking a Product Policy Manager for its FB App Product Policy team. Candidates should have expertise in counseling product teams to build with safety, integrity, privacy, transparency and expression in mind. Experience working directly on products with a focus on integrity issues and/or experience in the public or private sector with relevant focus and expertise in applicable policy areas.
They should also have strong analytical skills and share our vision of bringing the world closer together. They thrive in a fast paced environment and are able to prioritize multiple projects while making a global impact.
- Manage a team of high performing individuals who support Newsfeed and Profile
- Provide ongoing product counseling for new features for a variety of Facebook Products including Newsfeed
- Support the launch of new products by providing policy guidance on issues ranging from safety to fairness to human rights
- Identify, monitor, and analyze policy issues that affect these products at the state, national, and international level in partnership with the Facebook Public Policy team
- Identify new policy development needs, draft policies, and work with operations teams to build enforcement flows as needed for product features
- Address escalations and press inquiries related to supported products
Work across multiple lines of businesses including policy functions to establish a consistent policy approach
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Affairs, Public Administration, Legal, Political Science, or similar field
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in policy, law, media, government, or journalism with an emphasis on products, technology, media regulation, and/or news publishing
- Experience with product development lifecycle and product teams
- Experience working cross-functionally and consensus-building, including managing multi-stakeholder projects
Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving experience
- Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Affairs, Public Administration, Legal, Political Science, or similar field
- 10+ years of experience in or working with the technology industry
- Experience working on or with online products including messaging and video broadcasting platforms
- Experience with policy development and/or policy counseling
- Experience with providing policy risk assessment on new products
Experience dealing with escalations and/or time-sensitive issues
