Facebook's U.S. Public Policy team is seeking a Public Policy Manager to lead our efforts crafting positions on U.S. Federal/State policy as well as building and maintaining relationships with the public policy community (including think tanks, advocacy organizations, activists, trade associations, thought leaders, and interest groups). The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams across Facebook to devise and execute on public policy campaigns and to advance Facebook's mission to create a more open and connected world.Successful candidates must be able to identify broad trends in the public policy conversation, competently engage with outside groups on policy issues related to competition and technology regulation, and identify potential allies.
- Analyze and develop policy strategy and positions
- Identify, monitor, and analyze Congressional/regulatory issues impacting Facebook at the Federal level
- Represent Facebook to external policy stakeholders at events, conferences, coalition meetings, and in various working groups
- Articulate our policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses, and internal policy meetings
- Advise Facebook teams on policy matters to guide development of services and policies
- Advance Facebook's public policy priorities within the broad U.S. public policy community and provide feedback to third-party groups on their policy efforts.
Communicate Facebook's positions in public presentations
- 6+ years of legal and/or public policy experience
- Experience working in technology and related policy issues
Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- JD
- Experience in the federal legislative and/or federal agency enforcement, policy development, and rulemaking process
Experience working on competition policy, litigation, or mergers
