Role Description As the Technical Operations, OSP Vendor Manager, you will ensure the network operations are reliable and efficient by monitoring network performance, performing planned maintenance, proactively identifying and repairing network difficulties, and responding to network connectivity issues. In this role you will keep the network reliable and ensure that our users stay connected with our suite of applications, products and services. Additionally, you will perform critical tasks that maintain and improve network operations, and will take the technical lead in ensuring a reliable and efficiently operating network. You like being on-the-ground, executing complex projects that bring internet access to people. In this role, you'll: Manage the planning and performance of tasks that support ongoing operations. Implement a system maintenance program that meets GFiber’s service requirements and roadmap system upgrades and communicate progress and activities to internal stakeholders.  Support and lead implementation of the growing fiber to the home network infrastructure for new build and customer installation efforts. Perform new plant testing and acceptance. Monitor network performance and investigate anomalies in the system and resolve issues. Maximize network uptime and promptly repair network failures including those due to outside plant incidents. Manage local technical operations staff inside and outside the plant, maintain, revise and track process/operations documentation, and track contractor performance including billing against budget and contract. Supervise field work of internal GFiber teams and external vendors and contribute to field work standards/best practices. Coordinate outside plant moves/changes due to civil works projects. Write training design documents that specify the operation and interoperability of core fiber to the home network architecture components, and collaborate with other team members and groups to identify and develop scalable network designs, solutions and policy recommendations relevant to a large fiber to the home access network. At a minimum we'd like you to have: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Telecommunications or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5 years experience in network operations, engineering, construction and/or maintenance roles. Experience in managing operational efficiency and process improvements for an organization. Experience managing telecommunication infrastructure, Fiber to the Home/Plant (FFTx) operations and/or outside plant (OSP) projects. It's preferred if you have: Experience managing in-house technicians. Demonstrated experience in evaluating network operations and performance, network maintenance planning and disaster recovery. Working knowledge of fiber inventory management and assignment systems. Experience managing complex projects involving team members from multiple disciplines.   The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $114,000 - $123,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
