In Technology, we support First Republic’s employees and clients through the acquisition, integration and management of the Bank’s information technology systems and services. We drive innovation and explore emerging technologies so our people can be productive and focus on what matters most – providing extraordinary service.

The Developer Experience Team's mandate is to improve the developer experience at First Republic Bank: our customers are other developers, and improving their day-to-day lives guides our road-map. We show up to change how software development is performed to ensure that great people can continue to feel productive, satisfied, and rewarded. In short, we amplify the potential of the makers. From providing best in class tooling, building CI/CD pipelines, provide sample code to developers and streamlining the manual, we seek to empower developers. What you’ll do as a Senior Software Engineer**:**

• Build expertise across various DevOps disciplines, including software development, systems operations, cloud, and data engineering
• Lead by example: drive technical excellence and implementation of software engineering best practices
• Take ownership for the quality of deliverables and become a vocal stakeholder in future road-map

You could be a great fit if you have:

• Big plus: SysOps proficiencies, including networking, security, cloud engineering, etc
• Big plus: hands-on experience with any of the following: AWS, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Terraform, Ansible 
• Big plus: experience creating software in a highly-regulated environments
• 5+ experience in building software
• 7+ years of collective experience in some combination of software engineering, systems operations, or DevOps
• Advanced proficiency with at least one general purpose programming language(s) listed (Node.js, Python, Golang)
• Contributed to Software and done frequent code commits
• Peer reviewed code for others
• Passionate about Coding
• Clear and concise communication skills
• A desire to continuously learn new technologies
• Bias towards action and an ability to work autonomously while navigating uncertainty with good humor
• Empathy for developers, operations, information security, as well as other business stakeholders 
• A positive, enthusiastic attitude and the ambition to tackle challenging issues
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-changing environment
• Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone and in person

Base salary range

$150,000 - $180,000 annually

Salary may vary depending on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills and experience. Full-time employees may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes: medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k), life insurance, paid time off and a Wellness Program.  Annual bonus, incentive pay and/or equity may also apply depending upon the role.
