About the Role

FTI Consulting's Telecom, Media, and Technology (TMT) services include arbitration, litigation, mediation, risk analysis, settlement negotiation and associated analytical support. Our experts have testified in hundreds of proceedings on a broad range of technical and financial areas across the engineering, operations and regulation of wireline and wireless service providers, satellite companies, broadband spectrum holders, and media & entertainment companies.

The Director of Network Engineering and Project Management role is an important one that blends a combination of engineering expertise with a thorough appreciation of financial analysis. Our team is routinely involved in transaction diligence, performance improvement, and litigation-related engagements that combine both aspects of engineering-economics.

You will be accountable for managing, processing, and evaluating information to develop solutions for external clients as well as coordinating the efforts of internal team members in achieving the objectives for external clients. Further, in this particular role, you will act as a subject matter expert and interfacing directly with external clients on technical and economic questions related to networks.

A person that succeeds in the position will be able to work freely and take initiative in solving problems that are faced on a day-to-day basis, continually striving to ensure quality output that can withstand the scrutiny of litigation or other strategic assignments with clients such as diligence or business transformation.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate network deployment and investment strategies

  • Develop and manage large datasets

  • Perform quantitative studies and conduct studies as needed by internal and external clients

  • Prepare written testimony and documentation

  • Assist others in defining data requirements for various efforts

  • Speak to findings with clients and external stakeholders including presentation preparation

  • Write memoranda to describe the procedures employed to complete tasks and to summarize the results of research or analysis

We partner with companies, their stakeholders, and legal counsel to provide strategic, operational, financial and dispute advisory services to protect and enhance enterprise value. We deliver original insights that help clients better understand company performance, customer behavior, digital substitution, emerging technologies, evolving trends and industry norms. Over the last 20 years we have assisted in thousands of engagements for hundreds of the largest companies in the TMT space.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Operations Research or Statistics (Preference for Engineering)

  • MBA or other advanced degree with emphasis in finance, accounting, or data analytics preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with telecommunications network engineering and/or operations

  • Skilled in analytical software, including databases and spreadsheets (Access, Excel, Tableau)

  • Experience with network engineering and technologies in the telecommunications industry

  • Strong comprehension of TCP/IP fundamentals

  • Experience with routing, switching, and transport

  • Experience with wireless communications networks and infrastructure

  • Ability to evaluate network demand, capacity and utilization

  • Ability to perform financial analysis related to network engineering such as performing business case analysis related to capital programs, evaluating alternative scenarios for addressing network architecture requirements, and the like

  • This role requires travel to clients and FTI offices
